Hello Warriors

So I am having a bit of trouble with getting niche site keywords (i guess that is how you would describe it) I am looking to create quiet a few niches sites. Starting with creating an amazon niche site. And for every Amazon niche site I would like to create a Clickbank niche site.

I have been a member to BTF for quiet a while and have the whole process down, as far as how to create them and get the backlinks etc. But I am having trouble finding keywords/products for an Amazon site. I have created a Clickbank type Niche site that was a flop as I searched through the Google Keyword Tool and was searching as "Broad" a pretty bad mistake but I had to learn someway.

So if anyone could assist me with maybe the way they find a good product to promote that would be awesome. So far I have been looking at different catagories and sub catagories on Amazon then typing them into Google Keyword Tool with "Exact" and "Phrase". Then typing them into Google in "" to find a product or catagory that has below 50,000 results. I'm not sure how much is acceptable as far as that goes maybe 300,000? I'm just missing something if anyone could help that would be amazing.

  • number of results mean nothing, all you should concern yourself with is the top 10 results for that keyword.

Oh wow I have just heard that from many blogs that when you "Niche Keyword" search in google that is the number of competing sites. Thank you for that i had no idea.

Oh I have no problem with the building, backlinking, and ranking for thing its finding the right "Profitable Keywords" part of things I am having some trouble with at the moment. I have searched for hours on end trying to find a keyword or phrase i can use in a domain name and then forward to an Amazon product and haven't had any luck. I can't seem to find anything that isn't taken.

I'm honestly looking into coming a "Full Disclosure" Member at BTF I have learned a ton from them that I may not have learned other wise and I am thinking that may be the missing factor in what I am trying to do.

I usually do not bother with intitle, quotes searches when doing keyword research anymore. Physical products will have many results as many shops sell those good. But not many optimise the site well enough. Just use SEO Quake to see how many backlinks the top 10 results have. If Amazon is number 1 and has over 30 backlinks, it will be a bit harder to outrank them.

Does SEO Quake have a trial version or is it free haven't really messed with it much. I have messed with Market Samurai but now the trial version doesn't have as much as before.

SEO quake is a free plugin.
The free trial(market samurai) allows you to use the keyword research feature. All the rest don't work. It is very good though

For Amazon, I like to browse their top rated section:

Amazon.com Top Rated: The best items on Amazon based on Amazon customer reviews

This shows you items getting the highest rating and the most reviews.

I just start with a category (e.g., widgets), look at the top items to see if there are a lot of one sort of item (turbo widgets), then drill down into that subcategory until I find something promising with lots of 4-star products with lots of reviews (lite turbo widgets).

My theory is that, if a lot of people are taking the time to write positive reviews on multiple products in a niche, well, that sounds like a hot one to me!

I like to use KeywordOptimizerPro (free) to gather large keyword lists, then throw them into market samurai for analysis. You can also use the old free version of traffic travis 3 for analysis if cost is an issue.

Keyword Sniper Pro has nothing to do with building or ranking. It finds you seemingly hidden keywords that the Google Adwords Keyword Tool simply doesn't show you. It's extremely powerful.
