Is Off Page SEO Anything Other Than Backlinks?

Hi all

I have currently purchased a WSO from these forums that guarantees page 1 for 3 keywords out of 5.

I've had to ask a few questions regarding the service I have been receiving as deadlines come and deadlines go and delivery of things like reports are not consistent.

The reason for this thread is borne out of the last report I received. All it contained was some keywords and their rank in Google. I asked for a breakdown of work carried out as the report wasn't anything I couldn't do myself. I'd like to see the links built, articles submitted, indexed etc.

The response I got was that there are other means of getting increase in ranking and links are not everything for off page SEO. In fact all WF is about is a misguided obsession with link building!

So I asked what these methods were, to be told all will be revealed in time.. just not now:confused:

So my question is and apologies if I'm being thick are there are other off page SEO techniques other than article marketing, press releases, web 2.0, forum links, blog commenting, sig links, links on high pr pages etc etc that would increase ranking?

Thanks in advance.

There are so many off-page seo techniques that you could use. I would highly recommend link wheels. Also look at my previous posts, where I explain how you can use a squidoo lens and backlinks to increase rankings.

Google now looks at you google analytics account. The google bot looks at things such as bounce rate, visit times, fb likes, +1 ,etc

Well off page is about backlinks but these backlinks are divided into so many categories like Article Submission, Directory Submission, Social Bookmarking, Classifieds, Press Release, Profile Backlinks, Forum Replies, Link Wheels & Blog Comments but what you need to focus on always is RELEVANCY !!! if you are not targetting relevant links for your site i think you are wasting your time = )

Many people will consider "offsite" optimization to be about backlinks and will incorporate a variety of linking strategies to do this such as article directories, forums, blog commenting, directories etc.

However, this is where Google kicked the pants of many sites typically because of the nature of these links and sites used in linking strategies.

There's the social perspective to offisite optimization, meaning you have to still do some "networking" with others in your niche, establish credibility in your area which will eventually lead to trust or authority. Ultimately this will mean your content is being "used" by others (ie tweets, retweets, likes. +1, increase in RSS feeds, more readers, more natural links). It's the user experience at the core of this that will help your site improve.

Check out what Chris Brogan has to say with respect to trust and trust relationships in his book. You'll see some great insight into this whole social phenomenon developing.
