Simpler keywords

Hello, i tryed many things, and nothing worked so far. Lately i seen SEO and i tryed that too, but i guess i picked too competitive phrase. Than i checked google adwords keyword tool to find simpler to rank phrases, but i can only find really competitive. Could someone help me how can i pick keywords with less competition (as im just starting seo), how can i analyze what i have to, and if there is anything else.

    Ok i really dont get that....first he search for phrase, get too many results, than he put it in "" and get much less results, but who put "" when they search for something? I dont get something here at seo...

      Watch the video again, first all he began with searching Google keyword tool for extra keywords and then began analyzing those keywords directly on google search engine in order to find less competitive ones.

      On google he finds out how many site has the keyword in the their url and title.

      You might not understand the video at one shot, if you have not downloaded it get a youtube downloader software to download it to your computer.

        Download the free version of Traffic Travis. This will help you analyze the competition. Don't pay attention to how many pages come up in the search results, it doesn't matter. You're competing against the top 10, not the top 2,000,000.

        As far as picking easier keywords. Focus on long-tail keywords. For example...

        Lose weight is going to be a really competitive keyword.

        Lose weight while only eating cabbage soup is going to be much less competitive (generally speaking).

        The key is to find easily rankable keywords with enough search volume to make it worth your while.

    Ok, i kinda get it. But lets say i have general keyword now (single keyword with HIGH competition), but now id like to get less competitive keyword or phrase for same niche, but when i enter general keyword (high competitive) keyword in google adwords keyword tool, it generates many keywords, but all with very high competition. I would like to find low competitive keywords for same "term" or how its called.
