Ok then... so what backlinks would you suggest to really see changes in SERPS?

I have recently been criticised that I have created a thread where I state that some specific types of backlinks are very effective. However, no one really have specificed what backlinks they would get and why... My intention was just to help people who are just starting to rank pages and nothing more. It is known that a good combination of different backlinks and strategies are key to getting high rankings.


Please feel free to say what are the best backlinks you can get, from where and why...


p.s please don't just give a list from where you can get backlinks...

    It's not really a matter of high quality backlinks rather than diversifying your backlinks at the correct velocity.

    For instance, I in no means classify any of my backlinks I receive as 'high quality' because high quality to me means a PR5+ relevant sitewide link, blog comment that sticks to a PR6+ domain, etc.

    I only receive directory submissions, bookmarks, low (PR2-) blog comments, web 2.0 profiles, social networking, contextual links, private blog network links (PR3-), article directories..

    Although they are not very 'high quality' I still manage to rank for my keywords. Make your backlink pattern seem natural, and once you've received your rankings that you've been shooting for order some manual blog comments PR4+ and hopefully these are enough to keep you there. If not, get a few sitewide links.

      the correct velocity is very important. you also would want to include some diversity. and of course making everything seem natural is key as well. i am planning on doing and seo campaign on a very competitive keyword but i know i will reach number one in due time because of diversification and link velocity.

    I also recommend do follow PR blog comments, They work great and stay there forever as long as the site you commented stays online.

    Other than that, private blog networks are great too but they cost a fair bit to get in to

      Indeed, just make sure you post a thoughtful, relevant comment after actually reading the post to make sure it gets approved.

      For private blog networks, there are some good services here on WF that utilize those.

    I do mostly "offline" stuff, but it works for affiliates as well. I showed this to an affiliate marketer and now he only uses directory listings and blog posting the way I describe on my blog. Now all of his sites are in the top 5 or better.

    It works because the blogs your posts get placed on are always publishing new QUALITY content, ALL of the blog posts are 100% original, nothing spun is allowed, the blogs get crawled by the search engines constantly. 100-150 words. Check it out under back links on my site.

      I was always in favor of blog and article submissions but after google panda update i see more backlinks from forums and blog comments when i see top results sites.

      But there is always a issue of loosing these backlinks.

    Yes, the velocity is and different IP address is what I try to concentrate on the most. Finally there is some really great advice!
