AMR Resource Box

I submitted an article using AMR, I checked the Live Links report and looked at a few of the articles which have been approved, but the URL in the article resource box looks odd.

Instead of having a link to my URL, it has the URL of the article directory, followed by a slash, then my URL. Like this;

http://www.articlecompilation.com/Article/domain-name.com
Has anyone else experienced this? What could be causing this to happen?


Also, I submitted the article 3 weeks ago to about 250 article directories. I created a Live Links report, but it only says Total Articles found: 34. Out of those 34 articles, only 8 articles have been approved and the rest are pending. Is this a bad result?

What's the most likely reasons why it has only found 34 articles out of 200+ submissions? I ensured I typed in the correct categories when I submitted the article. I also ensured that I didn't put links in the article body, etc..

    34 out of 200 is probably not too far off the norm.

    Many articles will never be approved. Other article directories take weeks, sometimes even months to approve anything.

    That has nothing to do with AMR, just that there are a lot of crappy, worthless directories out there.

    This is not good with AMR. I just did a submission to 2000 places. Instantly I had 300+ live links and the total number of submissions was 1100. So if you have followed the AMR best practices you should be getting at least 300 live links on every submission. Some things to consider:

    When you register use a unique name and a password that is 4 letters and 4 numbers. Also fill out every thing on the account registration and use a hosted e-mail. email@yourdomain.com

    When you submit you need to use 5 keywords and as many categories as you can including miscellaneous, general, uncategorized, news, and everything else you can think of.

    These two things should help your submissions. You should be getting 1000+ submissions if you are doing it correctly and out of the 1000 there should be 300+ live links. Some of them will get approved later and some will never get published.

      You need to read the OP again. He only submitted to about 250 directories, not 2000.

    I have never found AMR to be of much use. The best I could ever do when signing up to directories is 470 successful out of the 6,000 or so that are available. When submitting articles, the results are similar and I have got as few as 12 articles published.

    For my money, it has been a bit of a waste.

      You must be doing something really wrong. Do you spin your articles well enough or would you consider your original content to be a quality one? I got AMR just a couple days ago and I have MUCH more than 12 articles approved so far. I recommend you go onto the AMR forum and actually look at methods that work for others then apply them.

      I agree with That Guy in that you must be doing something wrong. Even when I submit an article that isn't spun at all I still get 200-300 live links from submitting to about 1000 directories. You need to make sure you follow all of the instructions on the AMR site to increase your success rate.

But you tell me why when I signed on to these directories three different times with different email addresses, I got between 340 and 470 successfully signed on. What could I have done wrong to not have been successful more times than that.

        I have managed to get a hundred or so successful published from this few directories. But for the effort and the money spent, I don't consider this worth while.

        I use TBS to spin the documents I publish. I try to get at least 50% before I paste it into AMR and submit. Or at least I did as I haven't used it in a while. I never saw my web site climb into the top 1,000, let alone climb the ranks. It has been a complete waste of time.

          To signup, were you using a free email address or a paid one? Also, did you fill out every field in the signup form? Also, did you ensure that your pen name is unique? I recall, it mentioning that your pen name shouldn't be one that is used on other article directories.

    That is fairly normal for success, I haven't had an issue with the link though. You might want to recheck it.

    OK, there is a TON of dead article directories in that list, but I have like 12,000 directories in the list now - there seems to have been a bit of an update recently, plus I imported a massive list of 25,000 directories (a Fiverr guy is selling them - many of those are duff of course), plus I scraped a few of my own (use the free Google Scraper Footprint Finder, don't feel like buying Scrapebox!)

    I am successfully signed up to 2150, which of course doesn't mean my submissions are all successful, but I certainly get at least 120 auto-approved and then probably several hundred more in dribs and drabs.

    You HAVE to follow the best practices outlined on the AMR forum, and you might also want to read some of the BH forums where there are some additional (not especially BH) strategies for getting a good signup and submission rate - one tip I remember is to use a US address, and also try both the full name of the state, and then get the failed signups and change it to the initials, e.g. New York, then NY.

    Now, as regards getting launched to no. 1 with AMR, that's a matter for discussion. I am still working on my best practices for AMR, but on its own you are not going to get instant ranking probably. It has to be part of a mix of strategies - I am still working on getting the mix just right, but that's true with any SEO tool.

    I have just hit the top ten, and rising, with a not-too-competitive site that was just languishing around page 4 until I hit it with some cunningly-crafted AMR campaigns. And you can believe me, or not, but for this site I didn't spin my articles at all (except for some titles, and some resource boxes)...

    To answer the original post, you are submitting correctly. It's just that some article directories choose to handle outbound links differently and as a result you will only ever get one back per URL on that directory.

    So your article basically links to http://articledirectory.com/yourwebsite.com or similar but then from THAT page it redirects to your site.

    I wouldn't worry about it too much, your backlink still counts, the directory just decides to handle it differently.

      Yeah, it's pretty much their thing what they do with the link - I mean, have you read the TOS of all those directories?

      Some of them are also cheeky in that they do not post a link to your article on your author page, but rather a link to their root domain, so when you collect your livelinks, if you don't weed those out, then if you start backlinking your backlinks or whatever you do to get them indexed, then you end up sending juice to their domain root instead of your article, which is probably what they want!
