Homepage with not much content?

I'm building a new niche site that that has a homepage with not a ton of content on it. (130 words to be precise). Is this okay or will I never rank for my keyword?

Keyword Density is 1.57% and the rest of the page is pretty well optimized. Additionally, the site has over 200 pages of good, unique content that I've spent the past 3 weeks writing. Think I'll be alright?

Thanks in advance!

many home pages rank really well with limited to no content on the front page. As long as your other SEO factors are well done, you should not have an issue.

There are some advantages to having a longer article because it can both improve the bounce rate as well as have contextual links to internal pages of your site. You can also experiment with having a video on the homepage as well for bounce rate issues. I like to have my homepage be at least 400 words, but it does depend on the niche.

You can rank well with little to no content, but a manual review might mean trouble.

I have found that engaging the user with an offer and not worrying about the details of how much of my page is dedicated to text they will never read has always kept people on my page. Think of your user and what they need to see when they get to your site - make navigation to whatever that element is easy and quick. Provide them with the information they need to complete the action you intend them to perform. Google will notice that the user isn't immediately bouncing back to the SERPs and reward you for it.

I've seen websites that rank well with less content on its homepage. So I think there's no issue about it as long as you have done the right thing in optimizing your site.

I can testify to the fact that you can rank well with little content on home page also...

A lot of my mini sites only have 200-300 word article on home page and they still rank well for target keywords.

However, google does not like "shallow" content and if that is all your site has, chances are you will not last ranking well for very long

For some reason I thought the OP mentioned Adsense niche sites, or maybe that's just always in my head. My bad. Yes, you should be fine with little to no content if it's not an MFA site. Sorry about that...
