Hey guys, I wanted ask something about google serps and domains. I've found a keyword which has 74.000 Global monthly searches. I've checked the competitors and 1st competitor has ; Total Backlinks 1935 (most of those backlinks are coming one site's footer link)

What you think guys, is it worth to buy this domain and work on it ?
The Keyword has 'medium competition', 74.000 Global monthly searches.

I think it is deffinitely worth a shot, but there are lots of things that you have to consider still, whether the keyword is marketable and commercial enough to worry about...

There are other factors such as who ranks #2-3-4 etc and what they are doing in terms of SEO, their domain age, whether or not they are keyword rich domains or not, anchor text link counts they have... and much more if you are going to properly analyze it.

However, there is no reason why you shouldnt just buy the domain, build some links and see how you go, sometimes trial and error is the best remedy and you will learn a lot from testing and trying things instead of taking the time to sit around and contemplate.

Is it 74 000 global exact searches or 74 000 broad searches?.....big difference.

Hard to give an accurate answer without knowing the competition.....

It is global exact searches. I've checked it from adwords external keyword researces.

And when I type the keyword into google search, it says [About 17,100,000 results (0.22 seconds) ]

The 1st competitor is PR4 with 367K alexa
2nd competitor is PR3 with 3.5Millions Alexa rank
3rd and 4th competitors are Amazon affiliates..

How much is the local search?

Alexa rank means nothing so ignore that, Amazon at 3 and 4 is a good sign as they are usually easy to beat.

Really just guessing without knowing the keyword and evaluating the top 10 spaces.....

    The global search is 74K.
    US based searches around 12k.
    U.K based searches around 33K

I've searched for the keyword on both (google.com and google.co.uk) and 1st competitor is the same.(most competitors are same)

The rest of competitors(I meant top 10) are seem not really strong.

So what you think about that ? Should I go with this ? What should i do if i pay this domain ? Build a website and sell affiliates or make it for Adsense ?

Without knowing the niche no one can really give you a good answer because we don't know if there are affiliate products around that niche or if going the adsense route, if it has a good cpc.

It's only going to cost you ten bucks for a domain so why not?

Also, is it a trademarked name by chance?

Well, it is not trademarked name. The keyword is about health. I think I'll try my chance.
So which is the best and fastest way to go on #1st position with backlinks ? Should I start building linkwheel(as manual) immediatly when I buy domain ? Since i want make it manual, it will take some times so it may look natural. And should i put this new domain anchor text link to my other site's footer ? How it would look like for a newbie site ?

Yeah just start building backlinks however you like, press releases, social bookmarking, article submissions....all the usual suspects.

I never interlink my websites as at one stage that was considered bad to do although I'm not sure if it still is.

You might to make sure the site and keywords can be monetized. These days it's hard to find a goldmine just waiting. If there is low competition and high traffic, it's likely there's a reason.

Do a little research on Keyword Spy and see if ANYONE is paying for traffic.
