Adding A Blog To Your Site For SEO Benefit

More than ever, Google likes good content on a regular basis.

I have discovered recently that Google has been treating my clients sites who have a constantly updating blog with higher priority than before.

Since the recent PR update, most of them that were 0 or N/A are now PR2, and rankings have increased significantly.

Adding fresh content to a blog on your website has always been great for SEO but I really believe it is even more important now.

So, for a free SEO boost, set up a blog attached to your site and make a worthwhile post once a week. Don't worry about adding backlinks or anything, just ensure your main navigation appears on all posts and you should get some benefit.

Adding content in general is a good way to boost rankings, although a blog obviously makes that much easier to do.

I think all sites today need to have a blog/news aspect as well as a facebook page and twitter profile to be taken seriously by Google.

Blogs are great ways to keep Google happy!

As long as they are updated at regular intervals the search engines will be back frequently to index new content. As you mentioned, Google specifically likes this and is rewarding sites that do this.

Be sure to link your blog to your money site, helping the internal linking structure. Most webmasters overlook this vital tip. Keep in mind that if you are producing killer content from your blog, and that gets linked to from outside sources you don't want to miss out on that link juice to your money site. Nothing beats contextual links, even from your own domain or subdomain blog.

      Ya dude.

I have this one blog. For the last week. I've been adding a few posts a day.

      They get indexed instantly.

And get top ten ranking. Keywords are moderate comp. Longtail.

Nice! Are you also backlinking to these posts?

A blog aspect plus some social buttons on your site can do wonders too! If people are clicking to share your content right from your pages it can be extremely beneficial.

        High quality posts FTW!
