Would changing hosting company and site redesign affect PR

If done incorrectly you can ruin your PR. Although I do not know if PR is directly related to ranking on Google... either way make sure you have no 404s when you redesign the site and make sure there is as little downtime as possible. Also do not change the URL's of pages with PR because that will hurt your main PR.

Your hosting should not affect your rankings or Pr in anyway as long as yur host with a reputable company. The easiest way to make sure there is no downtime is to leave the site up at its old location for a week. That way anyone not getting directed to the new site will at least get the old site.


Changing your site around can affect your rankings, It should not affect your PR unless you leave some orphaned pages without the proper redirects.

The best way to do it if possible is to leave your site structure the same so that there are no url changes or at least as few as possible. If you are going to make any url changes you need to make sure that all the old urls get forwarded properly to their new locations.

If you change themes or just the format of your site that can affect rankings depending on how it is done. If you rebuild your content with seo in mind you could actually improve it (obviously the goal). If nothing else a major change in how your content is setup will mostly likely cause you to bounce around in the rankings for a bit.
