Can putting Adsense next to photos on your blog/site get your account banned?

Yes it can, I've seen this happen to a few people.

You must not line up an image or photo near an Adsense ad block or link unit in such a way that visitors may think that the ads are associated with the image.

This can confuse your visitors and mislead them into clicking your ads.

You can get banned for this.

But that's a whole lot more than simply putting photos next to adsense.

Yea, it's really at Googles discretion whether or not they ban you for it. It may be completely innocent but picked up by Google as a breach of terms.

I'd stay safe and not put a photo or image next to an adsense block at all.

Google doesn't need a reason to ban you. If it looks suspicious or fraudulent, then could ban you. Play it safe.
