Hey all,

When doing article marketing, most of the time you're given the option to have two, sometimes three, outgoing links in the signature box.

Question--what is the most common linking strategy?

Do I link one to my homepage, and then to my other pages?

What does linking to my homepage do for my other pages?

Thanks!

I think as long as the links are different it is good. So same domain but different parts of the site or a sub domain. Linking to the domain itself is good for all your pages in a small way but linking to the pages helps your domain and the page itself, since the page will be benefiting from the back link and it links to the main page. I think it is best to link to two separate sites though if you are able to.

This is a powerful article backlinking strategy that I learned from a recent post in the forum, (I searched for the thread but couldn't find it).

Basically what you should do is create 6 original articles with content related to your site. Submit each one of them to at least the Top 5 article directories such as goarticles.com, ezinearticles.com, articlebase, etc..

    Here is where the method gets juicy. To answer your question about the two links in your sig box do this;
Article 1, your website and Article 6
Article 2, your website and Article 5
Article 3, your website and Article 4
Article 4, your website - don't post second link
Article 5, your website and Article 1
Article 6, your website and Article 3

This is considered a link wheel and will create a lot of "juice" for your backlinks.
The reason for leaving Article 4 with only your website is for Google not to catch on to the link wheel scheme.

    Hope this helps

I link 1 to homepage and 1 to inner page too. I think it is important to vary the anchor text used, I change it about every 5-10 articles.

I never thought of IprovideSEO link wheel idea above but it sounds interesting. I have been bookmarking my articles after seeing even ezinearticles.com articles do not always show in my link reports. I also send my RSS feed from EZA to feed directories for additional link juice. Build some anchor sites on Tumbler, Squidoo, LiveJournal, Blogspot, etc.. and point them 80% to your home page and 20% to deeper links. Use keyword for 80% of anchor text. Then point your resource box links to these anchor sites.

Alternatively, you can just send your links 80% to home page and 20% to deeper pages. Just more risk to your money site this way if you do it too fast.

For me, if I'm submitting the article in any of the popular article directories on my top 10 list, one link goes to homepage and the other goes to my affiliate link but if I'm using software AMR or any other article networks then I just take one link to my homepage then the other link to any of the posts I want to build backlinks for.

If you're doing it for traffic, link to where you want your potential visitors to go.

If it's for SEO purposes, link to the page you want to rank in the SERPs and use the targeted keyword phrase as anchor text. I'd use 1 single link to one particular page.

According to me you have to choose only that web page which is related to your Article means if you have written an Article About any product or services then put that page Link, if you have written an Article about your business then put your home page link.
