Commenting on Auto Approve Blog Posts - Is it Worth It?

I recently finished looking at two people I hired's work on blog commenting.

One person did comments on a bunch of blog posts that were mostly auto approve and filled with other comments as well. In the hundreds. The pages commented on had high PR on the individual pages, not domain.

Another person finished blog commenting where they find blogs to comment on through search strings and seoquake PR sorter. What I noticed is that they are all moderated and nearly all of the pages have 0 comments making me thing that the blog moderator doesn't accept any comments, even if they are useful and relevant.

So, my question is does blog commenting on these high PR sites with many other comments worth it? Or is the link juice that's passed useless and it would be much more effective to do other link building strategies than blog commenting.

  • I am not a big fan of blog commenting, especially when you outsource the work. Most of the webmaster don't like people leaving backlinks for bad comments. So, they never get approved. However, if you leave valuable comments and they get approved, surely you will get some link juice and traffic (depends if they dofollow).

On Auto approve blogs, I don't think there is enough link juice left to get. I have seen OBL as high as 1000 on auto approve blogs. You will get a backlink, but I would say that would be Quantity rather than Quality!

It is advisable to use other strategies in conjunction with blog commenting to get the results.

  • I don't think that it will help you any more because of more outbound link on the page

I don't like the idea of blog commenting because most of the owner of the blogs just delete the comments..If you want to promote your blog, update the content

They delete most of the blog comments because most of them are just spam comments made by people who are hired to do such things.

I think you'll have to go back and check the pages that the 2nd person posted on to see how many got approved. PR is only one factor, if the pages are PR0 but the domain has a high PR and lots of backlinks to the domain, then that would still be a good link.

You have a good point. If the blog to post comment will undergo moderation you only have 10% of being approved. Automatic approve will give you a backlink but for sure it is also roled by spammy blog comments posters. The only idea is that what ever it is, you have a live link for that particular blog, the reward specifically.

Many blogs with high PR just don't accept comments, so you'd better save time on them. Those blogs with lots of comments is worthy, though it might contain many outbound links, it can raise your backlinks popularity at least. And if the blog has good traffic, your comments could bring your website traffic, too.

campers, good point you brought up. I think I'm gonna try that with manual blog commenting and use high PR domains instead of posts. Because it seems like all the pages I find with high PR pages to them have either no comments or the last comment was left months/years ago (making the possibility that a new comment gets accepted lowered greatly)

It's worth it if you do it on massive scale. With a software like scrapebox or similar.

As i have observed in blog commenting method, I think most of the owner of the blog site is usually approving the comment that are discussing the good side of the content. I think this will be depending on the administrator of the site.

I like blog commenting a lot but only the genuine comments and not the spammy one as Blog commenting can give you good backlinks on a dynamically updated page so indexing rate is also faster as page keep on updating as well. So Blog Commenting is good one and specially if your comment got approved soon but keep looking for dofollow comments mostly. They will help more than nofolllow.

I personally prefer commenting on instant approval blogs as they tend to be counted as instant backlinks.I dislike the manual approval blogs as I have found most of them are not approved by the administrator. However in case of instant approval blogs make sure that you find and comment on them so quickly and try to be in the first 25 commentators and hope in the mean time google will index those pages along with backlinks before the flood of spam comments arrive those pages.

    • If you're using comment/forum blasting software or services, your essentially spamming. I would think Google has a way of recognizing this as hundreds of anchor text backlinks are showing up on thousands of blogs in form of comments. I'm sure these types of "Black-Hat" techniques will eventually hurt your site. Don't cry when you wake up one day and see that your site has been sandboxed by Google and the other engines.

no don't do it it's like sticking your think into you know what when 20 other guys have already done so... it's dirty. dirty dirty dirty.

Often the autoapprove blogs link out to dubious bad neighbourhood sites.

I use autoapprove backlinks to bolster things like my ezinearticles that just aren't getting results, but should be. If I see that they're not on page one for a long-tail, they get a comment blast on autoapprove blogs because it's real simple, and sometimes it works. Sometimes.

Blog commenting is quite effective if you do it right. Auto-approve is okay, but the better blog commenting links are going to be moderated. My advice is to search for keywordluv blogs and organize them by PR. I find PR 2 and PR 3 pages with 0-3 comments already all the time -> I take the time to right a post I'm sure will get approved and I end up getting relevant, dofollow links with authority.

(No comments yet can be a good sign or a bad sign. More link juice for you or none because the webmaster never checks.)

If done properly, blog commenting can be very effective SEO strategy. Blog commenting serves many purpose apart from giving you backlinks.

In my opinion, while choosing a blog to comment, you must look into its audience penetration, its reputation and its approach.
If blog is reputed and having good audience base, you should not worry about its PR.
Its better to comment on moderated blog, because they are less spammy.

Most of the time auto approve comments in a blog tend to create a lot of outbound links so there might be lesser PR value or no PR value at all that would be given to your site.

Blog commenting is a great SEO tool, if done properly (like all of them really). I've seen a lot of sites who rank pretty much on the strength of their blog commenting.

These days? Not as much. Though AA blogs are still pretty good for getting backlinks indexed, strengthening buffer pages, etc.

If you're going to comment, make sure you're commenting on quality sites manually.
