Angela & Paul Type Profile Links - Here's how to Find 1000s

It seems that many people around are interested in building "profile links" and are using these links provided in Angela's and Paul's link building packets. Many will believe these links are the "High PR" that is advertised by these individuals when that is a false claim. The domains themselves may be high PR, but the profile links themselves are PR N/A.

Considering the heated debate I've had with Angela V. Edwards in this thread, some people may think I'm being hypocritical giving these links. Not the case, because personally, I don't think these are of any use and think they are not much better than spam links. You can use them at your own risk and at the peril of your website.

I just thought rather than having you all going out and paying for these Angela and Paul link packages, why not do some of your own research and find hundreds of these types of links for yourself.

I'll show you here how to obtain access to over 68,000 profile links. This should be plenty of link building opportunities across many domains if you should so choose.

If you click on this Google Query, you will find you now have access to 68,500 sites powered by the opensource software StatusNet, a service very similar to Twitter.

Links in the status updates are often "NoFollow", but from doing some digging, Links in both the Profiles Link and Groups section of this software as of a few days ago were "dofollow".

While I personally have not and will not use these links, some of you may think you've struck a pot of gold.

Hope this will save you some money and give you 68,000 opportunities to avoid paying for links from Angela and Paul.

Use these links at your own risk. There are other and better ways of link building but apparently, there are some that think there's value in these types of links.

Hmm, these are mainly statusnet micro blogs...

I have been link building using statusnet sites for a while now, they are great for sending "social signals" to your domain by posting status updates on those things, but I have not particularly concentrated on registering on those just for the sake of profile links and to be honest, I havent checked a lot of those sites for profile links but I dont think most of those let you add a link in the user profile, but I must say, some of them do...

Correct. Statusnet is basically an opensource clone of Twitter. It depends on how these are setup by the site owner. Some do and some don't allow profile links, same can be said for some of the group options. It really depends on what is configured.

You may not be able to use keywords or html tags however - as like you said, these are great for sending social signals.

They also tend to get hammered with SPAM ... thus my warnings!!!!!

    Forgot to mention,

For those that havent seen/used these services to build links before, you will notice that they get HAMMERED with spam :p

They have their purpose in the link building or what some may call spam life cycle...

but they are handy and they are there so why not use them to your advantage

Thanks for the heads up Barry. You saved me $5/mo as until I'd read that thread I was planning to subscribe to her list after working my way through the lists I have now.

The reason I'm not is very simple: you made the point that a PR9 or PR8 domain does not = a PR8 or PR9 back link just because the domain is. Usually profile links end up on a PR:N/A page regardless of the domain PR. It was pretty clear to me she's well aware of this. It was also abundantly clear that despite several invitations to clear that up, she chose instead to sidestep and ignore that fact every single time. That says all there needs to be said as to the "value" of her list. I'll put the $5/mo to other uses.

      No problem.

The biggest thing is there's tonnes of these places to get these types of links but one has to be very aware of what they are getting themselves into.

I've found links just by looking (and not very hard) that are great relevant links, with PR6, PR5 etc for several of my sites. I've even got some .gov and .edu links from very relevant sites just by asking.

It's all in the approach and yes, your $5.00 would be spent better elsewhere. You could get a beer and a burger!

That $5 would be better spent on Fiverr. There's a guy on there that does a great xrummer job.

    Thank you for the footprints.

Building backlinks period will improve your website regardless of minor specs to the backlinks. This is why people automatically go all out on these type of links with only a glimpse of SERP raise.

People need to build a few and notice how it will help their websites alot more.

Then again, people will rather pay 5 bucks than find them.

    P.S. Why "minutes ago?"

One other thing to mention: she stresses how her back-linking method she sells is the ingredient that got her the results she claims, yet just looking on GoArticles, she's a top contributor there with over 100,000 views and her bio link is to her $5 back-linking site. I would imagine that if she's submitting there, she's submitting to the other article submission sites as well, and her articles are likely picked up for syndication by high PR sites where she also may be contributing directly as well.

There is some speculation there, but its premised on enough solid ground to put very little weight to the claims of the "power" of the back link report she sells. There is also ample consensus that profile back links really aren't worth so much these days (and worth nothing on PR:N/A page), while the opposite is true for the value of using directory submission to places like GoArticles as a viable back-link strategy.

A good example of caveat emptor and the value of subjecting hyped claims to scrutiny that is at least proportional to the hype they claim before buying in. It may "only" be $5/month, but that's still $60/year that is thrown away on something that could be spent on something that has some real value to it - even if its just a beer and a burger.
