Hi warriors,

I have read that having your own high PR blog network can really help your rankings. Given the expense involved (esp. buying high PR domains) would you recommend this? Anyone have any experience here they would like to share?

Anyway, this is a SEO question - you should ask this in the relevant forum.

My opinion - a blog network is a huge investment, you'd better know what you are going to use it for! Too much work to run, I reckon, unless you are going to sell services too...

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

I think you have to be careful of that since Google can associate IP addresses with websites etc.

It is indeed very useful for things such as selling a product as you don't have to spend much time organizing the blog, just lay out your post well and it will rank itself if your product is well trafficked.

Pros: You have complete and total control. Make sure they're on unqiue c-class IPs and they probably won't be caught by Google. Obviously they'll provide good link juice to your sites.

    Cons: They're costly.

Control from A to Z is the biggest pro. Unlike link networks like BMR or others, your link doesn't roll off the homepage because someone else's post pushes you off. total control to throw juice where ever you want it. And you decide what is on each site or whether to monetize them at all.

Basically control, we have a fairly large private network across many unique class C IP addresses and data centers.

You just have a lot of flexibility when passing around link juice, selling links (not something we do) and generally helping other money sites to rank well.

    Cheers

Yes, it would but owning so many domain right from the start is a tedious work on your part and quite expensive.

Blogs with your own hosting on your website have some seo benefits also.

I wouldn't recommend to build your private network.
It's much more efficient to join a network like articleranks or authoritylinknetwork.
If you build your own, there's a big chance you host them all in the same hosting account and with a limited amount of IP's.
Big G calls this: self promotion

Google calls articleranks and authoritylinknetwork self promotion as well and theres no chance and certainly no big chance they will all be hosted on the same host. You either know what you are doing or not. Its not a matter of chance.

It is beneficial in the long run, but required a lot of effort , time and investment . if you have all 3 than go for it.

If not than go for the existing networks, those are already providing these services
