How to get ANY web page ranked in Google!

Ok, so there seem to be a lot of people running around saying "SEO is not like it used to be", or "to rank a squeeze page is difficult" etc. etc.
If you think that there's a difference between ranking different types of site or that it's now suddenly become hard to rank a new site "because of Google changes" etc.... You've been stung by the sharks looking to keep you struggling.
There is a whole marketplace full of people looking to make you think you need them (or their tools/services) in order to stand a chance of getting your website ranked.
These people feed on your fear and inexperience.
They'll make you pay top dollar for a useless link from a profile on a popular site telling you that your new website will jump to Page Rank 3 just from having that link.
They'll tell you that any seo knowledge you've learned is now out of date and the "seo professionals" are now using techniques you don't know about and that are now essential in the new seo landscape.
They'll even tell you that perhaps it's not even worth you trying to do the search marketing yourself as you don't stand a chance as a small fish in the big online sea.
It's a control thing. They want you to feel like you're in the dark and missing out on the 'secret' ways that successful people use and that are keeping you back from the success you want.
The same as when you're young - people tell you "go to school - get a job - get married - buy a house - retired".
What about you? Those plans don't include you doing what you love and letting you know it's ok for you to create your own plan that fills your life with passion and makes getting up every morning an exciting adventure.
If you're not working your own plan you'll end up part of someone else's plan.
Search marketing is about using your brain and working your own plan.
Your lack of confidence in your own ability is being used against you to keep you stuck relying on others and constantly thinking you're missing out on the thing that's making everyone else successful.
The truth of the matter is - you don't NEED anything in order to get great results.
There is no 'one' tool or system that you will fail without.
If you're not using Facebook, Twitter, Youtube etc.... that does not mean you cannot get great results. You don't NEED any of that stuff.
You just need to understand what your business is, who it is for, and what the people you're expecting to make money from value so that you are offering the right thing to enough of the right people.
So next time to see some new "SEO has changed and you're gonna get left behind unless you use this new shiny system that the Pros use!" - just ask yourself if you're only their sucker because you lack confidence in your own plans. Also - pay close attention to the sales letters getting thrust on you - most of them don't actually tell you what they're selling. It's all vagueness and fluff in order to sound like something you have to have without actually telling/showing you what you're going to get. This is usually because if they just said what it was you'd know it's nothing new and you probably already know about it.
Stop letting other people use your fears against you and start creating your own search marketing plans. Test what works for YOU and then develop your own unique way of doing things.
