Im curious as to how well the sites on the first page of google do in monetary terms. If you site were on page one what would be a realistic goal with the money it could potentially bring in?

  • I think it relay on the keyword you ranked on in the first page ? what traffic are you getting. I have a website ranked on some keywords first but again which one are for you ?

    • It depends on the keyword, how many searches it gets, what position you are on page one, etc. Some keywords get barely any searches some get millions.

Some keywords are "buyers" or "actionable" keywords, others aren't.

It also depends on how well you can monetize the traffic.

There's plenty of sites that are on page 1 for decent keywords but make barely anything off of it. Being on page 1 for popular keywords, and for many different keywords can definitely be profitable though.

It depends on what keyword(s) you rank on the first page for, on where on the first page you rank, and on the commercial intentions of that traffic.

To rank on the first page, or even in the first position on the first page of Google is trivially easy: it's so easy that if I mention the words "antidisestablishment of the modern Portuguese Church" in this thread, before the thread's completed it will already rank at number 1 on Google for that exact expression. That keyword won't produce any money for anyone, though.

To rank on the first page of Google for keywords for which numerically significant traffic with commercial intentions is searching, however, is a whole different ball-game.
