10 month old domain - SERP strategy
- SEO |
It's great to find a forum like this where people are friendly and helpful and interested in the success of others.

I own a moving business in Sydney Australia and am currently looking at ways to get good SERP rankings.
I've looked at the ways to increase link popularity and was wondering if a few experienced hands could chime in with some opinions on what I should do.
The website is nshdmovingstorage dot com dot au and is about 10 months old and gets good rankings for some non competitive and highly local keywords (like 'moving hills district') and has a few backlinks already but still has a PR of 0. It needs a few more images etc (they'll come in time!) but has enough content compared to competitors to make it 'meaty' enough.
Anyway, to start with I want number 1 SERP rankings for the key word 'Removalist Sydney' and 'Storage Sydney'. One of the sites at number 1 is usually ezemove dot com dot au (PR3). I had a look at the links coming in to that domain (around 1000 according to Google) and found a whole lot of badly written articles, spammy forum posts from low PR sites and links from no-name directories.
Surely there's a smarter way to do it!
Currently I'm using Paul's links to create profiles on PR4 and better sites. I also plan on subscribing to Angela's links as well. I'm currently using fellow warrior Stephen Hawkins' product SEO link Dominator
I also have a good supply of articles that I have written myself that have good grammar and are aimed at helping my target audience, which is people wanting to move home. I can also keep producing relevant material on this subject because I work in the moving industry and have done so for many years.
So what should I do to blow my competitor's web sites into the weeds? Guest blogging? AMR? I heard ezinearticles got Google slapped; is AM still worthwhile? Am I on the right track with Paul's and Angela's links? Should I blaze away with thousands of backlinks?
I have a long term approach to this; it's really an offline business with an online presence that makes money by moving people and we have a lot of money invested in it.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
