I currently have a amazon review site for a product that is on the first page but I also have a adwords campaign running on the same keyword.

How do I track where each amazon sale came from adwords or organic?

Use different site ids in your links.

Yes, make sure you set up a new tracking ID for each site, and then use it in your code. It really helps see where each sale comes from and which sites are bringing in your traffic.

Yes I figured out how to make different ID's but heres the problem. I am using the same website in my adwords campaign that is on the first page using organic traffic. Also I am only using one amazon ad on my website. So for that one ad I need it to use different amazon ids based on where the user is coming from, adwords or organic.

Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools. You can link all of your google programs together.

Install Google Analytic in your site. This will show you the traffic source.

I'm going to assume there is probably some kind of javascript or WordPress plugin that can change affiliate links on the fly depending on the source of the traffic. You'd need multiple Amazon IDs, though, which can be easily made.

As a work-around, you could always create an identical page with different affiliate links that works as your landing page for PPC traffic. Be sure to noindex this so it won't count as duplicate content. Just a thought.

There may not actually be a plugin or existing method to change the affiliate links depending on the source of traffic; I just assumed there might be one.

Certainly you can, but be sure to set the noindex meta tag, like I said.

Ugh... yeah, that method won't work, then. Sorry, I'm out of ideas, unless you can find something that will change the links depending on traffic source...

(lots of replies here from people that aren't even reading the thread... Analytics won't work for what he's trying to accomplish.)
