Affiliate Links- a new window or existing window?

I mainly ensure that my affliate links open in a new window or tab. This is because I still want the reader to read my content. I usually do this when I have more affiliate links than 1 on the page, for example: a link for a bench press, one for a protein powder, one for vitamins, etc

What do you guys do?

I open in same window, I want the person to be ready to buy once they click through my affiliate link.

Opening in same window makes a smooth transition from my review page to sales page.

I agree with you in some way ...If for example it was a link saying " Check you the best deals here" then yes.... But what if you have a link like this in the first 3 lines : " The incline bench press(incline bench press is one of the affiliate links) is one of the best pieces you could own for working on your abs and lower chest". I think that in this case, a new window would be better... Don't you think?

I also open in the same window, UNLESS I want the visitor to stick around on my site and continue reading. For example if I want them to buy 2 different items.

It should open on the same window as your purpose is to let them buy the products without thinking much..

This is something I've been wondering about, too. I've been building links that open in the same window, but I saw an argument the other way that said they like to open in a new window because it gives another chance for the person to buy a product.

Seems like something you would have to test yourself in order to come to any kind of conclusion.

New tab. A new window might get blocked and is kinda pointless with the tab feature. Taking them completely off your page is usually a bad idea, though.

Opening in a new window always make me think it's a popup, so I go same window.

Do you do this even if you have multiple amazon products promoted on the same page?

I normally set it to open in the "Tab" than a completely new Window.

When you do this anyway it just automatically goes to that tab anyway. And if they want to go back to my site then fine.
