Just wanted to tell people that following the google sniper 2.0 (to the word), I have indexed and ranked 5th for my keyword in just under 4 hours!

The keyword has 1600 exact searches a month and very low competition so this is probably one of the reasons. But nonetheless...

for any newbies like me, I definitely recommend google sniper as it really does explain everything very clearly!

Yeah google sniper is a good course however keywords that have decent search volume and no competition are few and far between, when using the "sniper" method most of the time you will have to link build, but its still worth doing.

Yes, I got the exact match domain name and the competition is really low... as in only one site really optimized for the keyword. Although there are a couple of authority sites for my niche

And thanks JSProjects for the advice, but luckily I was smart enough not to put link to this niche site in my sig (especially on a internet marketing forum... lol) the one in my sig was just a test site

Good to hear. I'm guessing it's the site in your sig? (Personally, I'd remove it. I'm betting you'll have some unwanted competition coming your way.)

A lot of new sites will tend to get an artificial boost for a month or two. So you need to build some decent backlinks. If you don't have much competition then it's not going to take a lot to keep your rankings, and even improve them.
