How Much Content is enough?

Hi there,
Been researching SEO for the last year and I have a question I hope there is a clear answer for

Once you have a well SEO'd website and you have plenty of quality content, how much is needed to keep the "good content" coming in?

For example:
If I create a site with about 15 pages to start with each page with at least 700 words per page... how much content needs to be added and how ofter for google to be interested in you.

Very sorry for the newbie question, Just trying to get a few things figured out.

In advance, Thanks so much for any and all help.

If you have a news site, probably should have new stuff everyday.

If you a site that updates stock prices, might be every 10 minutes.

If you have a site that simply provides information about a timeless topic, you might never have to put more content up.

The question isn't how often does Google want more content, it's how often do your readers want it.

More content is good for a bunch of reasons, but there are a lot of small sites that rank just fine.

It's said that fresh content does help rankings and keeps the Google bot coming back more frequently.

I would suggest, 1 new piece every week or 2 if the site makes money and the resources are available. Assuming of course the site is a timeless topic as packerfan mentioned.

Both answers are very helpful and got me where I was going, thanks!!

Most all my sites are informational, so I think every couple weeks or maybe even once a month should be sufficient. Thanks guys

    Depends on your site.

Some sites dont need any new content for a long time, sometimes never. It depends more on your backlinking campaigns after your site is 5 or 6 months old.

I heard that in order for you to stay on top of the competition, you have to constantly keep posting and updating your website. Perhaps you could start to target different keywords for different pages and constantly keep posting so you can get that organic traffic coming in soon. Also remember to keep pinging and getting backlinks to your website-- that helps with your rankings.

Yeah, using analytics is a good way of monitoring your site's traffic. But to make sure, update your site's content with new ones and also make sure to write a good and interesting content for your site.

If you're looking to build a legitimate business and brand then you need to realize right now that there is no such thing as "enough" content.

Keep in mind that variety helps, too. For instance, vary the amount of words in your posts. It does not look natural for every post to have 700 words. Short posts, long posts, some with pictures, some with videos.

This topic largely depends on the site you are building. Large company sites obviously need lots of content, but not much updating. Small niche sites need less content and almost no updating. Blogs don't need a lot of upfront content, but they need lots of updates. This question is very difficult to answer in your situation as we don't know what type of site you are trying to build.

Your site is Micro niche or news site
If yours is a news site, I think you will have to update content daily
If yours is micro niche site, I think at least 3 unique contents is enought

I try to update my site about once per week just to keep it fresh.

The more content it has, the more keywords it has, which means the more traffic you will get! And isn't that what we all want??

I would just add one thing:

more QUALITY content = more traffic = more revenue

After all, if your content is garbage, no one's going to take you seriously. And if no one takes you seriously, then you can kiss all of that revenue goodbye

It's nice to be able to systemize content creation, like most other things in business - whether that's writing once a week, once a month, or perhaps once every 2 days.

I think i depends on your type of business and whether your industry is accustomed to shart posts or detailed articles.

I recommend seeing what your competition is doing, and then doing a little bit more!

450 words article is much enough for SEO content. I mostly use this strategy.

Generally, I'll add 2-3 new articles each week to each of my sites. I put aside a few hours every Saturday to do this. Keeps everything fresh, and whenever I add new content I see a small boost in the SE results.

There is no limit of contents but quality contents are very important. So try to write quality, original and topic related contents and don't copy any contents from the other comments because Google give penalty for duplicate contents.

Depending on the type of site - you can never have enough content.

If its a site for a small local business, maybe a couple of pages will do.

If you want to establish an authority site, then you will never have enough.

My personal blog has been running for close to 3 years. With over 500 articles, and over 2,750 pages indexed with google, I feel that I am not posting enough content.
