Duplicated website in Google, I lost all page rank

Hi all, I have 2 website which is exactly same content in Google.

The first website was in Google first page previously, after that I register another domain and the content is exactly the same.

But after a few month, I realize my page was really far behind, what can I do to make it back to first page like last time?

I will delete the second website, use the redirect domain to the first website content.
And I am thinking using the Press Release marketing boost back the page rank, what do you think?

Thanks all!

Matt Cutts recently stated an opinion on this subject. His thoughts went along the lines of if you have 3-5 sites selling the same thing they need to be a little different from one another. So he did mention they dont like exact copies of sites but i have seen them take up multiple spots on the front page. same exact review content etc. Maybe use one site to drive traffic to your other. You should definately swap them up a little bit in the form of your text, pictures, alt img text etc. I own 5 domains in the same niche but they all look different and have similiar content but not word for word.

    Good Luck

      Thank you for your suggestion.
Now my page have go far behind from first page, until I also not able to find it

I have do some changes on the main page last week, but still far behind, waste all my previous effort for all the seo, backlink works.. Will Google not rank me forever as they category me as spam? I quite worried about this..

Normally take how long to rank first page again? Thanks a lot!!

      LOL @ Matt Cutts.

I would just 301 all of my copied URLs to one of the sites that you want to focus on ranking up, and that way you get all the linkjuice from your copied sites, but funneled all into one domain.

    Hi kkcoolz,

    1. Each site should be somewhat unique from one another. The critical thing IMO is that should differ is with onpage SEO as well as content. Identical content should not be allowed IMO, if you need to reuse the content use Wordflood software to spin the content and make it unique to some degree.
    2. Using press releases is a great way to boost PR! If you want to do it on your own without having to pay tooth and nail for someone to create and submit them for you check out my automated I.M. Press Release Generator software in my sig
    Best of Luck,

    Justin
