I know that building link is the key in getting high ranking in SERP. And to do that, you have to invest your time in building those links.

But may I know what is the fastest link building strategy?

There is no specific advice for that because we are not managing the same sites. The first thing you must to is to analyze how high the level of competition for that particular site and the keyword that you are using.

Well there are lots of "fast" link building strategies but you should focus on what works. Look for high PR quality authority links that Google loves. 10 of those will boost you faster than 10k xrumer links.

If you ask me, i will say, combine various link building strategy.

Here is the reason why:

Some article marketing can take a while to get published

Forum posting can not be fasten

Web directories take about a month to six months to get links from well established directories.

Blog commenting takes a while to get approved, this also depend on the administrator checking and approving the comment.

Press release submission varies, some sites loves to proof read new entries before posting it to their database.

And so on and so forth.

When you are doing several methods you are steady back links.

I use Nuclear Link Blaster to blast 5K profile links and then send few hundreds articles into AMA, I find this work most effectively!

  I haven't found a single competitive serp where there are profile backlinks ranking anything high. Even for the old term "backlinks" the top half of that front page are using High Pr domains mixed in. A bunch of Articles and profile backlinks alone are not going to work for anything competitive.
  
  To the OP - no doubt about quickest way is to get HIGH authority/PR links I have never placed those kinds of links to a site and not seen a noticeable and quick effect.

  Not necessarily. If the domain's old enough, Google might not see it as spam, and won't sandbox it. Now, granted, there's a difference between sending 100 links at a site and 5,000 links. Just don't go overboard.

Use social media to make your link viral, however for the conventional strategies i do not advice the use of automation tools, it is better to build backlinks manually.

It's not really how fast you build backlinks. What's more important is sustainability. If you build 10 backlinks a day, you need to keep building 10 every day. If you build 100 backlinks and you drop down to 10 then be prepared to experience the google dance a lot with your site.

I think the question you need to ask is, what is the most effective link building strategy.

If you want the fastest strategy, just take a new domain, give someone USD 200 to do 10 Xrumer links and give your domains 100,000 links in a single day.

The problem with this approach is that you might get into a lot of trouble in terms of rankings, especially if you have a new website.

I also agree with the majority here, i.e. having a diverse linking portfolio with natural growth.

But, if you're looking for traffic this may not be the most effective...

For faster traction to your sites I would recommend you learn to "participate" (folksonomy). In other words, become a part of the on-going discussion surrounding your niche in various topical forums, yahoo answers, blogs (in the form of comments or guest posts) etc.

By the way, I'm not talking about spamming... I'm talking about actually contributing to these resources.

This approach will do a few things for you:

1. It will provide you with near immediate traffic
2. It will provide you with some links (from potentially relevant authority sites)
3. It can make you into a "celebrity" in the niche

The great thing about this is that you will start to get traffic independent of Google, AND not be adversely affected by the various Google updates.

There are almost so many free and useful tools on the internet that you can get your backlinking done in 20 minutes a day

Fast is not the way, quality is the way. I tried to get fast software blasting links to my test site, and it was banished to the hundredth page. Slow and steady wins the race, and you should try to make high quality article back links that get found in a specific Google search. Updating your site with quality content is important as well.

The forum posts, article submission and blog comments really help to promote my site. Most forms allow you to leave the firm, or a link in the message or reply with do follow. The article should use keywords as anchor text.
