Do You Go After Niches If You See Other Adsense Sites Ranking?

I was doing some extensive kw research the other day for some new niches to get into and to my surprise many of the sites ranking high were adsense sites. If you see your competitor is going to be someone who makes MFAs will you compete against them or will you move on to another kw or niche.

I do. It adds to the fun. Plus, there is more of a guarantee that you will get ranked as well.

Is there a reason why you don't like competing against people who are also monetizing their sites with adsense? Personally I don't worry about that at all, and if I think I can rank for a particular keyword, I will do it regardless. Just remember not to build MFA sites exclusively and strive to build quality sites which will actually engage the visitor. With all the recent updates, it'll be challenging to rank well for keywords without providing some quality content.

What does it matter if they are an adsense site or not? I pick my keywords based on what I want to do a site on. Adsense or not, doesn't matter.

I never liked to do it for two reasons. The first reason is reason is because I almost feel bad lol. Especially if its someone who has an old site that was making them money then here i come and take all the adsense clicks haha I am starting to not care as much though due to the fact there is someone in one of my niches that made an adsense site and is using the same theme that i am and trying to out rank me

Another reason I never wanted to compete with an adsense guy is because of the fact that i am worried that they might do some black hat stuff to take me down. Either send 100,000 xrumer links to my site or send links to porn or click bomb the hell out of me.

However, after doing some pretty extensive kw research the past few days i am starting to think i will just have to man up and make adsense sites even if i see others that are ranking with MFAs. For some of the kws i was looking at 4-5 sites in the top ten were xfactor style sites so I m guessing there is enough money for all to be made.

I think that you are worrying too much about existing competition. Is it any different from future competition? Even if you are the first in the niche to monetize with AdSense, what guaranty do you have that a new publisher will not do what you fear from an existing one?

Just go for it, take action, don't waste time waiting for the perfect niche/keyword.

Yeah when you find the right keyword just go for it! Don't spend too much time worrying about other websites. Just make your content useful and unique and you can monetize not only with Adsense but many other ways as well!

No matter how you look at it, every single site within your niche market is a competitor regardless of what monetization methods they use.

Competition is a part of business in general, and I'm almost willing to guarantee if another competitor noticed your site ranking over theirs, they wouldn't even think twice about getting their site to rank higher than you and knocking you out of your spot.

I've got to be brutally honest though - if you're afraid of a little competition, business may not be the right thing for you. You will ALWAYS be faced with competition, no matter how big or small. So, if the thought of you outranking someone else or the fear of another person taking over your rankings isn't something you can deal with, you might as well just consider it a wash.

im not scared to compete with other MFAs, infact I feel I can out rank the competitors in less then a month. So far in my SEO ventures I have out ranked some pretty authority sites with ease.

My worry was more about the sabatoge from a competitor to my sites or network of sites which made me more reluctant to build a direct competitor to another MFA site. Here on the WF everyone is pretty nice but Ive gone to other forums where people brag about doing some pretty nasty things to competitors sites. However, like others said i might as well go for it if i see other MFAs ranking for a kw or a niche that I like because there is no guarantee that someone wont try to make a clickbump or ctr theme site and knock me off the top

I usually see it as a good sign.
If they can do it, so can I.
Unless they are a goliath of a site with lots of backlinks...then they are not an MFA but a high quality authority site.

In general, the appearance of optimized micro niche sites in the serps is akin to a "buy" signal that should help reinforce your decision to mine the nitch.

I think it doesn't matter. What matters is the quality of competition. If the competition is poor, go for it man ...

I'd definitely go against a competitor if I found a niche that was converting. Who wouldn't?

    Very good topic.

I am in a situation where I'm starting a brand new site for a niche that has close to ZERO competition and at the same time delivers killer conversions.
In theory it is a 1:5,000,000,000 niche.
The #1 ranked site is made for AdSense and he is selling some affiliate products too.
I figure this guy is making a lot of money. Say, $2,000 per month from AdSense & Affiliate products combined.

When I start competing against this guy, I will be putting his $2,000/mo earnings at risk.
And I am almost 100% sure that this guy will use some dirty tactics on me and try to shut me down.

It is going to be a war. But not a war for rankings, a war for money because this is what rankings translate to.
I'm a complete newbie and I wish I knew how to prepare for an online war like that. or at least how to protect myself from and counter competitor attacks...
Oh, maybe I'll just have to post a topic on the Warrior forum.

If someone else ranks with similar techniques as you, then surely you will also rank. So I suggest you go for it.

I always go after niches where there's AdSense websites ranking in the top.

Why? Because their SEO often sucks. And their backlinks can easily be obtained

Don't think twice about outranking someone. If you do — business isn't really your thing.

I love seeing MFA sites when I do research, especially very thin site. Not only is it fun to try and challenge yourself against another marketer, 75% of the work is done for you already. Check out their backlinks, and start there.

Of course I would, if I spot frailties in rankings, then I will capitalise on them, regardless of monetisation techniques.
