Tips to get YOU on TOP!!

I see so many posts here where people are struggling in the Search Engine game. The problem is everyone over-complicates the whole process. Here are some tips to get you on the right track.

1. Make sure your On-Site SEO is optimized for the main keyword you are promoting. This is very important.

2. Add Fresh, Unique, QUALITY, content to your site daily/weekly(depends what type of site you have) Keep it as fresh as possible though, and make sure it is UNIQUE, QUALITY content.

3. Keep a steady stream of backlinks pointing towards your site. I would say if you are just starting, don't stress to much about PR, or No-follow/Do-follow, just keep a steady stream coming in. After you get some links and see how everything works, then you can start trying to get quality, higher PR links.

That's it, just keep it simple, but be consistent. Hope this helps some people. Any questions feel free to message me.

Best of luck,
Justin

No doubt content is important for your site but you cannot just overlook the onpage optimization for your site, just by saying that Google will detect what your site is all about. Otherwise just try it for your site and let me know if your site gets good rankings and traffic without on page!!

I would just like to add that you should not rely strictly on Google or any one source for traffic. Diversify. Google can change their algorithms any minute and, POOF your gone.

Ok, if it's that simple why aren't we all ranking at # 1 spot for the keywords we target?

Don't let us be so naive to think that the SEO field is a piece of cake. It takes a lot of effort and knowing what to do.

You also need to be current, know what the trends are and how to maximize on these. Right now, people love videos. A few months ago and to some extent still, How-to's were quite popular. It takes knowledge and focused action.

As with all things, effort and dedication will pay off. And what about discouragement? So many Imer's become disillusioned with the process while not making enough money? It's simply not that easy.

I agree, it's not difficult in terms of knowledge, we can get that from this forum and many others, anything SEO could be Googled and good advice available. But if you think that doing a little backlinking there, on page seo and you're ok, its not.

Every IMer need to have his/her own strategy. Stick to the basics and use the tools which are available. It is complex trying to find the right overall strategy, I for one, don't think of Web directories as having any value, I almost always get little traffic from them. But for many this is important.

I don't spit content to hundreds of article directories just for a backlinks. I want to offer readers good content to read. Not something that's in the web all over the place.

I have my methods which are making me successful. Just take in all the information you can get and use them to compile a strategy you can replicate time and time again for different websites or to improve the one you have.

It's not child's play. You need to be committed and not run to all those automated stuff out there. Stick to it, try, fail and try again. That's the strategy to the top. there's no magic bullet. Every SEO campaign is different from the other.

I never said these steps were the magic bullet. These are simple steps to help get people started.

Also, some people try to target keywords that are in niches that are way to competitive or have "Authority Sites" in the top spots. Let me guess, your trying to rank for the MMO/IM niche?

Hardest niches to rank for include(but not limited to):

        MMO/IM
        Weight Loss/Fitness
        Gambling
        SEX
        Vitamins/ Herbal
        ACNE

Try and find niches that are not as competitve yet are still "buyer niches". That is why you should always DO Your Research before you begin a campaign.

        Best of luck,

Thanks for your tips! I'm a newbie too. There are so many mind boggling backlink building tools, some free versions and others paid. Do these tools do some help? Or manual link building is the best strategy of all? Or should we strike a balance between the too? How to find the correct strategy for our site?

I am sorry I don't understand exactly what your asking about keywords.

As far as content, QUALITY is definitely more important than quality.

Just keep getting links steady and naturally.

Despite the fact that these tips are really basic, I still think newbies should be constantly reminded of that.

Also, i would add to not pick battles you can't win. Some keywords are just too bloody hard.

Thumbs up! Great points! Brief and the most important. Always works

Also....it’s important to remember that the reason for the continually changing algorithms and updates is that Google has one objective—to provide the highest quality, most relevant search results possible.

I am sick of buidling links by my self thats why I am struggling for something difficult. I am finding ways of making viral links and making my site worth sharing. At first place normally people hate if you pressurize them to buy something so I am trying to discover where in the first place you gain the trust of traffic than introduce your products or services. I am very determined that once I made my site popular through social media my site will rank easily on the top in search engines automatically for the most suitable keywords

If you want to rank high, ALSO for *extremely* competitive keywords, you need to start with your on-site SEO and attempt to create an authority site.

You CAN NOT rank for a keyword like "lose weight" with a one-page or two-page site - but you CAN if your site structure comes close to an authority site.

This is: Cover also RELATED categories and keywords. Backlink not only the main page, but also each sub-page and article.

Go on Google wonderwheel - look for what Google thinks are related and important KWs for your niche. Have appropriate categories. Have content covering all the sub-categories but still under the main keyword.

Slowly - your site will become an authority and it WILL be possible to rank extremely competitive keywords.
