Blogger vs wordpress

For my website, I use wordpress. There's so much customisation, it's unreal. If you're proficient with CSS/HTML, you can create almost anything you want for WP to edit your site. I'm currently into copywriting/content writing, so it's ideal for me, but Im going into web design/graphic design, so it's invaluable for me to know WP anyway.

I'd definitely choose WP over Blogger any day, to sum it up!

Blogger before I know about wordpress. There are so many options and functions in WordPress, which is more organized and flexible. You can choose how to organize your blog and it is easier to control things.

Personally I think Wordpress is incomparably better (and I'm not even a regular Wordpress user, myself), but it doesn't really matter all that much which is "better", Buddha, because for internet marketers Blogger isn't safe to use.

And anyone who actually reads the threads like that all the way through, I imagine, is highly likely to change their mind about using Blogger, and thereby reduce the regular occurrence of all the other threads like this one.

Ok let's just say I wanna use wordpress now. Is there a way to import all my things to wordpress? Anyway, I just started my blog, I have roughly 20 readers maybe. Man this is a little troublesome.

Anyway what do I do with my pending adsense review on my site? The blog URL is under my blogger one. What should I do?

no doubt wordpress has an upper hand over blogger from all aspects of life. wordpress is I think unbeatable But truely speaking I complete my adsense first $100 using blogger.

Go for Wordpress without any hesitation !!

Wordpress gets my vote too. WP does have quality and features. Blogger is an unchartered area with many accounts abusing the right of free blog hosting. Imagine that i do say good things for WP even they disabled my account when i tried to use the service for SEO purposes only

wp.COM is like blogger (in many regards): a platform maintained by them where you can create a free blog on a subdomain: whatever.wordpress.com - in other words, you do NOT own the site.

wp.ORG is the place where you downloaded the free CMS script to be installed on your own domain/hosting.

If you are serious about going places online, I would advise you use wordpress WP. It will help improve your learning curve and it sort of has a larger support community than blogger.

Go for wordpress.org.

Blogger does have its uses. I've run across a technique for physical products that uses blogger. Because blogger is owned by google, it "likes" it, and with the blog name being part of the URL, it does well in SEO. BUT, you have to know what you're doing.

WP.com is worthless for monetization as pointed out above, so from an IM point of view, don't bother with it. If you just want to talk about your hobby, or post about last night's party, they're great.

I have a number of WP blogs installed on my site, and one of the things I like about them is their versatility due to plugins. (If you don't know, plugins are a sub-program that add to the functionality of the WP blog)

I thought sites like blogger and wordpress can be used for Internet marketing. Now I know that wordpress are strict and they will ban you for Internet marketing. Blogger can be used to sell your products for all I know but about affiliate links, I am not too sure since I am not to sure whether generating traffic for other site means no affiliate. Wow, this leads me to wonder is there any other blog or free domains to choose from to do my internet marketing? Just listing out my options, thanks!

Wordpress is way better, its easier to use but also you can have your own self hosted blog and domain.

I purchased a domain and shifted it to byethost free hosting, But the problem is I don't know how to install wordpress as byethost does not have a Cpanel as Alexa said here .

I did read the instructions on wordpress dot org regarding installation but didn't understand a thing Duh ! Purchasing a hosting is out of questions as I cannot pay for it. My paypal is limited and I don't have a credit card :|.

It is certainly true that wordpress offers some great customization opportunities.But if you are a beginner then you might want to start with blogger because of its flexibility to use.However there are certainly some risk associated with using blogger platform and you can know more about them from Google.

Blogger is easy to use and Google loves it, of course, it owns it. Although it is free and easy it is not the way to go if you are serious about your business. You get what you pay for, as the saying goes. Same goes for wordpress.com. They are remotely hosted and you don't own the domain. You are just renting space. Your site could be here today and gone tomorrow, with the least provocation.

With wordpress.org your site is on your own domain. Your piece of real estate. With some free beautiful themes you can create something to be proud of.

There are a lot of reasons to host your blog on your own web site using WordPress. As a computer security professional, the simple fact that you have control over your content tends to jump out from the rest.

Hosting it on Blogger or WordPress.com could result in the blog being deleted by them and you may never discover the reason. Not a "knock" against them; it's just better to keep as much under your control as possible.

You can always host your site on Blogger with your own domain name and that gets rid of the problem of blogger shutting you down and taking your url with it. Wordpress is the way to go.
Even if you dont know how to run the setup I advise you to look up fiverr for such services. Lots of users there can do the job for you for only $5.

Hands down Wordpress is far better. Just think about how many plugins you can use on wordpres and how many custom themes. And the Fact that Google loves well done WP sites is just an add on.

WP is way better, virtually limitless when it comes to customizing .. The only thing blogger has is that it's very user friendly.

Definitely go with wordpress. Much more features and much more SEO friendly as well.

The platform for wordpress is good but ten times more limited than worpress installed on your own site

but in wordpress free hosted you wont be able to insert java, iframes or any kind os ad networks and if you manage to they will ban you and steal your site from you if you make a mistake.. dont do it

Also it is great for making 5 page sites and use the first and only blog post as first landing page..
blogger being property og google inc.. lets any blogs you make go straight into the google directory and get found

i sell thai amulets on one of my websie online stores, but for each major kind of amulet that has many monthly world searches, i make a blog with blogspot using that keyword search as the blog name
for example there is an amulet called Kumarn Tong
i sell Kumarn Tong amulets on my store, but in fact, my kumarntong.blogspot dot com 3 page site with one blog post sayiing 'kuman tong amulets anbd a few more words' and then the store script inserted, sells me about 4 amulets a month

i have many blogspot blogs which bgenerate and catch customers for me
i use ecwid online store, which differs from other software because instead of installing a e-commerce software on my server, i do it all on ecwid server and i have acode snippet which is my store front display. I can take that snippet of code as a widget and insert it into facebook, myspace and blogspot or anywhere i wish
this means i have about 20 stores but dont have to log into 20 different websites to check my sales, and dont have to spliut the stock between each store.. its all the same interface
blogger allows me to insert the script. wordpress does not

Wordpress allows you to easily and almost painfully optimize your site for SEO with the variety of readily available and free plugins. Also, there are plugins which quickly turn a Wordpress page or blog into a front-end for an Amazon (affiliate) store, a squeeze page, you name it. There's a reason why Travis Sago, of "bum marketing" fame, refers to Blogger as "ghetto hosting."

i find blogger to be better for autobloging - easier to configure fo UAW, but thats the only advantage.

wordpress lets you configure almost everything u csn think of and whats more important you do not depend on big G - u host it yourself.

in my early days i have had few blogs deleted by G for no reason, it would have never happened with a wordpress site

I vote for WordPress. Not only is it awesome for everything mentioned above, but it has a support community that is unreal. You can always find a WP expert, not so much with Blogger.

I'm still new so I have only worked with wordpress and I'm still trying to figure out which format will work for me, but since I'm still early into the biz I'm trying to play around with it and considering I have zero background in computers and blogs and such, I'm finding wp is't too complicated to use. I could say that WordPress is better than blogs, in my viewpoint, since you can customize the appearance and can add some widgets and plug-ins to give your page a personalized image.

Used both, actually both have their own good points, although prefer WordPress...very stable, seems best for anything long term.

Bottom line: WordPress : PR9; Blogger : PR8

Wordpress so good for SEO, I'm not sure about blogger

Judging by the data provided from warrior plus wordpress is one of the most searched terms on this board. It's going to win this debate by far.

Is there a difference between a website and a blog in terms of SEO? I thought content is the only way you get higher rankings through searches regardless of whethers its blogger, yoola or a .com domain. Sorry new here, correct me if I am wrong!

If the questions is Blogger vs. Wordpress.com then it really doesn't matter. Since both are hosted for you, and you don't own the website. In general that is a downside. But if you are just starting out, or have a hobby blog then Blogger is fine. You can always import your blogger posts to Wordpress later.

I like on Wordpress.com how they will promote posts on the homepage.

The best situation is to own your own domain name. In that case Wordpress is the best solution. Use Fantastico installer that comes with the hosting account.
