20-30 visitors a day to my blog, making ~$2/day with adsense - good or bad?

I have 20-25 visitors daily and ~100 pageviews, yielding 1.50-$2.00 a day. It's only been a few days thus far, I was just wondering if that sounds about right? I don't want unrealistic expectations.

Thanks

I have a few blogs getting >=5k hits a month and make like $2 a month in adsense lol.

    It's VERY good.

    The main question is consistency.

Wait a few weeks, if you maintain $2 a day then it's bank.

My advice is to watch, and if it continues to make $2, don't touch it.

    :p

      Depends on the investment.

      Domain: 10 bucks a year
Hosting: 80 bucks a year (plus or minus)

      Days in a year: 365

      Daily revenue on blog: @1.50 = 547.50 a year

Amount of time you spend for maintence????????

You tell me. Is it worth it? If not, you can always sell now if it is pulling money.

it's a blogger account so it's free. I'm not sure if the adsense so far is an estimate or real $? I really don't get how adsense works, I have about 160 'impressions' and 4 clicks. I don't think that's worth $4 but whatever lol.

That's too small of a sample size to make any assumptions about future revenue. You'll need earnings of $2/day for at least a few weeks before you know if it'll maintain or not.

I think $2 a day for 20-30 visitors is quite good. I mean, that's practically no visitors at all so imagine how much you will be making when you get 200 visitors a day or 2000. I have many blogs with that many visitors that make only $2 a month - lol.

But like Jill said, it does depend on the amount of work you have to do to get the visitors

That's what I was thinking, if I got 10x the visitors would I get $20/day?

Well you probably wouldn't make 10X but you would certainly make more. Sounds like you picked a great keyword that pays out pretty good in adsense. The only worry is that it is a blogger blog and they can shut you down at a whim so I would think about moving that onto your own domain ASAP.

What you have done is REALLY good in my opinion. Either you're getting traffic from long-long tail keywords or you rank high for a high CPC, low traffic keyword.

Hopefully it's the former since if you can get 100-150 visitors/day you would be making about $10/day, which in the internet marketing world is amazing, especially for one site. My first site is actually getting slightly higher traffic than you (25 - 40 visitors/day) and I'm making only half of what you are!

Looks like you found a winner!

If you do the math OP, $2 out of 20-30 visitors is a great find! You are getting roughly 8 cents a visitor! That is good news with adsense. Sounds like you just got started , so ride it out until you get 1000 visitors. Then look at your earning over visitors. If you are still hitting 5-8 cents a visitors, you need to celebrate and think about scaling it up.

That seems like a lot, which makes me think adsense is wrong? Or maybe t's because the average time on the blog is 5+ minutes. it's a personal blog, purely organic.. I don't really want to or think I even could scale it up since there's nothing to sell but a story.

I do have a niche marketing site I've started, however, which completely sucks. I can blow any competitor out of the water content and knowledge-wise but it's a very competitive and saturated market (how to get six pack abs), depends on how much time i'm willing to put in. I might just do an offline personal training gig.

It seems like you need some more traffic and you'll do pretty good as far as making money with adsense on your site.

do you know how adsense works? what is making a visitor to my site more valuable than others? time spent on site? thereby making the ad "impression" of a higher quality?

$2 a day is excellent with such a small amount of traffic. Take a look at your analytics and figure out how people are finding you so you can keep creating that kind of success; create posts that are related and add more 'meat' to your blog - bring in that long-tail traffic and focus on high paying / high converting keywords - keep at it!

Not bad, especially in your case that you are still starting in using adsense. Patience is an important ingredient here; you just have to wait for a while. As what my friend "mentor" has told me, do not be hasty in expecting results with regards to the IM business.
As you can also read and stated by fellow warriors here, your result is good since of us has had 3 dollars in a month, but it's a start. Evaluate what needs to be done in order to improve the number of visitors. If at this time, you are generating 20-25 visitors a day, after you had adjusted the necessary changes to your blog/s, imagine how much will you be earning if that number of visitors will increase per day? Just have patience, and persevere in what you do.

As a rule of thumb, each unique visitor, will get you 1$ per month.

So 25 unique visitors, will get you 25$ per month, or nearly 1.0$ per day.

It really depends on the terms and the traffic... you no doubt realise that some terms are worth a lot of money, and others are worthless....

I would suggest that you get away from adsense asap and look at doing affiliate stuff instead.

The only thing you really need to know about adsense is that google take 75% of the revenue, leaving you with a few crumbs for your trouble.

I think ShoeMoney described Adsense as his "monetization of last resort" a while back, and that is how I would view it.

Adsense is great as you can monetize almost anything with it... but if there are other options available then try those instead... for example selling leads, promoting products on amazon, ebay, running aff links direct to service providers like insurance companies etc... they all pay better than adsense in my experience.

For me the biggest hurdle in getting away from adsense was that I knew I could drive a click, but never thought I could close a sale... and certainly adsense is "easier" in that sense.

It is a lot easier to make $1 per day with Adsense than it is with affiliate stuff.

It is a lot easier to make $300 a day with Affiliate stuff than it is with adsense.

Hope that makes some sense.. sorry if that is not quite the info you wanted back!

If you login to your adsense account what ever it says your earning that is what your getting paid. so if your menu say 20.34 than you will be paid 20.34.

The adsense model is a profit sharing model. Google gets paid "x" amount for showing the ads on you page of content and when visitors to that page click on an ad you get 68% on avg. I forget where this was announced but this is the percentage that Google itself publicly announced.

but you are doing pretty good for your first blog.

FYI, blogspot has been known for deleting blogs. If you are serious about making money with adsense you should start thinking about posting content on your own domain.
