For those of you who don't know what a pingback is, than here is a short little explanation: A pingback is one of three types of linkbacks, methods for Web authors to request notification when somebody links to one of their documents. This enables authors to keep track of who is linking to, or referring to their articles. Some weblog software, such as Movable Type, Serendipity, WordPress and Telligent Community, support automatic pingbacks where all the links in a published article can be pinged when the article is published. A number of more advanced content management systems support pingbacks through the use of addons or extensions, including Drupal and Joomla.

For those of you who don't know what a pingback is, than here is a short little explanation:
I have been using blog networks quite heavily for the last year and I noticed that I am getting hundreds and thousands of pingbacks to my WordPress blog and that got me thinking. I figured that each one of these pingback shows a live and indexed link that I built.
How wrong was I.
A few months ago I decided to check this out and you can see and read about my results here - Pingback Power WordPress Plugin, Get It Free! - DBPMARKETING
To make a long story short, it turns out that 80% of the pingbacks are not indexed and all of those links are worth nothing for your SEO and link building efforts.
This entire thing led to the creation of my free WordPress plugin called - Pingback Power. It is a simple little plugin I created for myself so I would be able to harvest all the pingback URLs with ease instead of copy and pasting them all.
I didn't see any reason not to share it with everyone else and the feedback I got so far was amazing and got me working on V2 which I hope will be ready soon.
If you want to get your Free copy of Pingback Power and help you pingbacks get indexed you can get it at Pingback Power | Turn The Power On All Your Pingbacks
Let me know what you think and you have any suggestions or questions.
Thanks
