Is there a limit to Adsense earnings?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there's a limit to how much you can earn on a single Adsense account?

Not that I'm anywhere near that limit yet (if there is one), but I'm curious to find out.

I've checked the T&C, but unless I've missed it, there doesn't seem to be an answer to this question.

Anyone know please?

Thanks,

Sherrie

  • Man, I hope not!
  • No there is not a limit. Think about it from a legal standpoint.
  • No, there is no limit. However, if you sign up and earn a ton of money right away, you can be sure that they will take a close look at your account. I remember a guy who set up a board, made a few posts about mesothelioma, and then told his surfers to click the ads. In one day he made $1200 and the next day his Google account was gone. Funny thing, he then spent a week bitching about how unfair Google was. As long as you are doing everything within their rules you should be okay.
  • As long as advertisers pay Google there is no limit.

  • There are sites out there..that earn millions a month...I mean the internet is exapnding so rapidly everyday..and google would wants a piece of that action.

I mean if they capped you it would be pretty dumb because every $1 google pays out..they make $2 +...it would be in their interest..to keep you in their network ..so they can keep making money off you.
  • No. For every $1 that Advertisers pay, Google makes 32 cents and publishers make 68 cents.

    • oh.ok

      Source please ?

I'm not trying to spite you. I just want to read this for my own knowledge.
    • Thanks to you all for your very prompt replies!

      Great advice and much appreciated,

      All the best,

    • For their search, they take the whole thing.

And if you publish a search box, it's roughly 50-50.

You can read it for yourself if you login to the old interface and click
on account. Scroll down and you see it.

The big spenders are on their search, not on Joe Shmo's adsense site.

Getting back to the math. For every dollar google pays you for a normal
adsense ad on the content network, google gets 47 cents.

      $1.47 x .68 = ~$1.00 for you, leaving ~$.47 for google.

  • The AdSense revenue share - Inside AdSense

Quoted directly from Google themselves, "AdSense for content publishers, who make up the vast majority of our AdSense publishers, earn a 68% revenue share worldwide. This means we pay 68% of the revenue that we collect from advertisers for AdSense for content ads that appear on your sites. The remaining portion that we keep reflects Google's costs for our continued investment in AdSense -- including the development of new technologies, products and features that help maximize the earnings you generate from these ads. It also reflects the costs we incur in building products and features that enable our AdWords advertisers to serve ads on our AdSense partner sites. Since launching AdSense for content in 2003, this revenue share has never changed."
  • Earnings from Adsense are limited only by how much you can earn
  • I dont think there is a limit depends on your work and amount of sites.
