I am moving a site over to Wordpress. A **** load of page links, and backlinks etc are going to be all messed up if I do this move.

I already ahave about a page and a half of 301 redirects in my htaccess file.

1. Does a large number of 301 redirects on my htaccess file mess with my SEO rankings etc.

2. If I do this move to WP, I will have a stack load more of these 301 redirects to do. SO what am I supposed to do? I will loose my SERP rankings?

    1. There is no limit of 301ed pages
    2. For the best, you have to 301 every page of your WP site. If you have 300 pages, then 300 301...

If it's really to much to do you can 301 the whole website, but you're gonna loose some good ranking for sure, if you 301 all the pages you're almost not going to loose anything.

Ohh, righto. So I guess when I change things over to WP. I should add some new backlinks to strengthen the new site structure. (I know you should be b'linking all the time anyway).
