  • Try changing the colors to match the ones on your site.
Use the same color for the clickable links as you use for your headlines,
the rest of the ad, including the url, in the same color as the text on your
    site.

  • I assume the hunting dog is your site?

If so, i think your ads are fine. But if I am you, I will try to use something like dark green for title to make it stand out.

You take a look at my ads in my blog at HawaiiWonder.com. I chose red and it converts well. It used to be black color titles and I only got like 3 clicks. Now, I got average 6 clicks.
  • Oh yes, your link color should be 0000FF for best results.People are used to click on blue links.
  • Lizzie, go check out my site.I have done the adsense according to Joel Comm´s adsense secrets. It works.

    • Great adsense placement!

I have heard though that placing the ads under the headline can possibly be a
problem with Google.... dunno for sure. I usually place mine one paragraph under the headline.

      What's your CTR?

I really like your theme as well!

  • The important thing is to test your site.

I had a site and tried red instead of blue. This increased the click through by 50%.

It really depends on your site.
  • I agree with Tom. I too have found that by keeping the links in the typical blue color that nearly everyone is familiar with, increases the click-through rate.

    • And the truth is - TEST IT.

Try a color related to your site design for a while and then also try blue - to see which works best for THAT site in THAT niche.

    • Hey, just visited your blog.I recommend removing the borders from your adsense blocks. They look like ads at the moment, by removing the borders they look like content.(More clicks)
  • just saw your blog. adsense looks fine. Sometime contrast scheme also works. You have to experiment a bit.

    • Thanks for the ideas.. i had just changed the actual placement on a few pages, to have the text 'wrap around' the ads in the top rectangle, left the color of blue, and my CTR and earnings dropped by half.. so as you all say experience .. the ads prior to the wrap around, were in the top middle, and the text/body of the page started below ..

  • Only use the link color the same as your regular links. This will automatically make them blend in.
  • I just put up adsense on my cigar site, and blended it in with my colors. It looks great.

I went into my theme and found the color codes. I didn't want any big contrast on my site.

But as some of the others said, maybe the contract will bring more clicks. I am anxious to see what happens!
