Anyone know where I can get cheap high PR (PR 2+) backlinks? I don't mean high pr domain, I mean the page where the backlink is has to be high pr.

Profile links are pretty much worthless...

I've heard some good things about BMR, should I get some BMR gigs from Fiverr?

How many links have you built to your site? Are you not getting results ?
My site is a sniper site sitting at #7-#8 on the first page. I haven't done any backlinking, I just started it about 4 days ago. I think I've maximized the on-page seo and so now I'm working on the off-page. My backlinking strategy used to be to build a few web 2.0s/articles linking to my site and then blast those with hundreds of articles/social bookmarks. That was until I saw a site at #2 of the SERP with no content and only 3 links (2 from pr 2s, 1 from pr1) and from what i can tell, they were paid links. Since then, my strategy has been to just get a few high pr links and from what i've heard BMR is perfect for that.

BMR is ok, however you're links only stay on a page with PR for several days at most then they move off to an inner page, ideally you want you link on a page with decent PR permanently for maximum benefit.

i do not trust link buying company and it is risky to outsource it to third party. I usually contact personal bloggers as most of the sites have ads for sale. However, the price is a little higher.

how long can it take for a high pr link to influence your rankings? I got one yesterday (PR 4) and I don't see any change in my rankings

I'd say anywhere from 1 day to 60 days.

And not all PR 4's are equal. A link from a PR 4 site with 12 outgoing backlinks is a lot stronger than a backlink from a PR 4 site with 112 outgoing backlinks. You may see no movement at all.

You're going to have to be more patient that one day, it's probably not even indexed yet, you should see the full effect after 1 week, and unless this is a low competition long tail keyword I doubt you'll see any decent movement from one PR4 link, if you want movement you are going to need a good amount of juice, I'm talking 30+ high PR links.

It's a low competition keyword (there's a hubpage and an ezine article on the 1st page and both aren't optimized for the keyword). And I pinged the site after the link was added, so I'm sure Google has crawled it. This is frustrating...

There is a forum about backlinks, a backlinks forum if you will, where a ton of high PR packages are offered.

The problem with BMR is the backlinks will fall off the high PR page after a little while. That said, you can still get great results using it.

A lot of services offer high PR rental services, where your link will stay on the page for as long as you keep paying your monthly fee. For these, wait around 2 months for the full effect, but the effect can be huge.

The most common mistake when buying high PR links is to get tricked into buying links on a zero PR page. The advertiser will say "get a link on a PR7 site!" this often means "get a link on a PR0 page of a site with a PR7 homepage". These links usually aren't very useful. You need the PR to be high on the page where your link is.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Be careful with buying backlinks, exspecially recently, I've heard many people said that their websites got kicked by big G due to link buying and selling. If you really want to buy, choose those websites won't sell too many outbound links and share similar topic with your website, it will be safer.

I suggest you not to buy, do manual submission which as good page rank try to spend more time participate in forums postings, blog commenting & do article submission, social bookmark to get traffic as well. this will help you to get quality backlinks.

Don't try to back links, you might get penalized, it would better to build back links through other techniques but big no to buying back link.

Unless you buy some high pr domains yourself the only real way is to rent them. You can find plenty of people selling rented homepage links on private networks here or on the backlinks forum. It's usually about $1 per link per month. The money can add up fast if you join a few of them. However there is absolutely no better way to improve your rankings. Test one of the 20 or 30 link networks for a keyword if your not sure. If the keyword is fairly low competition it will be nailed to the #1 spot within a month and will stay there for as long as the links do. You just need a few blog comments etc. for some diversity.
