When I ask this, say you're submitting an article with links back to your site and it's going to be randomly placed on a blog in a network. I've yet to see any mention of anything regarding whether or not the article is placed on a site with content related to your website you're linking to. Granted, I also have no idea how many other external links are on the site my article gets placed on.
For everyone thinking about or using a private blog network, do you know what you're getting?

Obviously the PR is a crap shoot too.
Am I missing something? Are there private blog networks that are industry specific like for health? Obviously, once your site develops a few links
Do you all gain comfort that these sites aren't whored out with external links and your articles aren't put on nothing but poor PR blogs because once our links are indexed by google we can go back and check out the sites they're on?
Just trying to get my arms wrapped around whether or not a blog network is right for me.
I would be using this network to boost up a message board in a competitive field, and possibly another blog I have, that I really only use to send more juice back to the message board.
