What's a good wp theme for adsense?

Hail warriors!

Wow, I haven't been on this forums in ages. Anyway, I am slowly getting into IM again, and I decided to start off with some adsense sites (I had some good success with those before life got in the way)

My question is, what would be a good (and free) wordpress theme for adsense?

Back in the day "Bluesense" theme was quite popular (blends the ads into the text, not a lot of distructions from the ads) but it seems the theme hasn't been updated (and the site to which the theme linked fromfooter is no longer online)

Thank you for your suggestions!

    I personally love StudioPress's Education theme for AdSense sites. On the homepage, with 2 sidebars, you can run a 250 x 250 block and a 160 x 600 block.Thanks

I use Artisteer, but any other theme that let's you do simple customizations with a few clicks of your mouse button is good.

It doesn't matter a lot once you learn basics of HTML/CSS (and how to edit a wordpress theme) because you will be able to edit stuff later. (And there will be a lot of stuff to edit later on.)

I just set the colors for the theme in the Artisteer, set basic options, and then manually customize the theme to make it better. (add navigation, hardcode Adsense script into specific places, make conditional ad placements in theme editing, etc.)

That's basically it. See? I didn't even use an affiliate link .

Use the Twenty Eleven template, and replace the header image with a "leaderboard" ad.. I promise you your CTR will go thru the roof. You won't need any other ads on your site.

    I should've been more clear

I can't code anything, and I can't really edit a wp theme. So I need an out of the box theme that will do it all for me.

So the twenty-eleven theme is out (no idea how to put an adsense ad in the header) and making my own own theme with artisteer is out to an extend (I'd prefer a theme where ads have already been placed and all I have to do is insert my adsense #)

That education theme looked decent, but again, I'd like a theme with adsense code already pre-built into it.

What would happen if I tried to run a theme that was made in wp version 2.7 or so in the current version of wp?

Pick a very simple wordpress theme. Pick one that does not distract the searcher and makes them focus on your adsense links.

There are a million free themes that will do the job. It is kind of funny, but the ugliest themes often have the highest conversions.

Hey guys, thanks for your help. A few questions though, when you buy a theme from ctr-themes is it for unlimited domains or just 1? They never clarify it.

Heat map looks very nice, though I'd proly try something free first, so I can see if I can rank my sites, and buy it then.

Also, VinnyBock can you link a .zip file for the heat map like that? Or is that a different heat map then the heatmap theme that comes up first when you search on google?

Honestly I haven't come across any free AdSense theme thats worth it's salt, heck most of the paid ones suck too. You'll proably be better off finding a good looking free theme that works with your niche and customizing ad positioning yourself (or outsourcing for a few bucks on Fiverr).

Plus since every site/niche is different you will likely have to customize the theme anyway, even if its a paid "Made for AdSense" theme. I always see better results with a customized theme that was designed around the specific content/audience/function of the site in question.

I'm actually selling one of my sites that uses a highly customized version of a theme I created for some of my furniture niche sites. If your getting into any furniture based niches you can check it out at http://flippa.com/2656607 to get some ideas as this layout works very well for me.

Wow, that's really great ad integration. I imagine your CTR is huge with that site.

Thanks (and yeah the CTR rocks ). Though heavy customization can be time consuming and/or expensive its totally worth it in the long haul.

Nice looking site! If you don't mind sharing how did you find that theme and what did you pay to customize it?

      THanks ahead of time.

I'll throw in a second for the ClickBump Engine. That is a rock solid product, and it's so much more than just the way it looks. It's fast, versatile, and has a great admin-backend. Plus some of his extra premium themes are really stellar. I love and have used his 'ReviewSite' theme on multiple adsense sites and gotten very respectable CTR (~6%).

Not only is the Clickbump Engine great, but Scott (developer) is an absolute stand-up guy. Great support, and really loves what he does (at least, seems that way from my end). His other products are great, too. I remember when the ClickBump theme first came out and I jumped on it fairly early...It's come a looooong way, and only getting better.

No, this is not a sponsored post or anything like that, and I'm not offering you an affiliate link (ahem, post #3). Scott has offered me wonderful, attentive support enough times that I'd feel bad if I didn't chime in here.

When I was starting out I also used the Flexibility theme which is also really good. I tried CTR theme as well, and it's pretty good. Simple, easy to setup and delivers decent clicks...Although I confess I stopped using it after a couple months cause I felt like the ads were a bit overbearing; I don't want to look like I'm building MFA sites. =/

Anyways, hope you find what you're looking for!

I'm in the process of redesigning my main money site. Trying to find lots of precedents, and yours is definitely inspiring. Then its a case of finding a coder thats up to the task of converting my PSD.

It is time consuming, and can be expensive, but with elevated ad earnings it pays for itself in no time.

For WordPress themes I know Bluesense and
Flexibility are very free and popular.

      Clickbump is another alternative.
Paid, but it is worth the price.
