Which adsense ad format converts best?

I have just finished one of my websites and intend to put some adsense formats. I would like some great tips and advice on how to go about putting ad formats. I would like to know which formats is best and which is known to convert best.
I also heard that removing boundaries really works great.does it?

  • personally i like link units towards the top of the page and 250 x 250 squares in the actual articles
  • The answer is it depends on your layout. In general you want them blend with your layout. If you want more help I suggest sharing your site or adding more details about it.
  • You are going to have to experiment with this.

    Try different ad units and different colors.

    Currently tho the Large Rectangle is working the best for me right now. I keep the link a bright blue color and the rest of the ad text in black, no borders, and match the background with your site.

      There is no one layout that works best on all sites, it's different for every site. You must test different layouts on your own site to learn which is best. And, because this changes over time, you need to repeat your testing on a periodic schedule.

      This heat map from Google may help get you started in the right direction.

  • for me, the largest rectangle is the best

    also with no border.. make sure the ads blend with your website...

    but i prefer the link to be in blue.. coz that is what the regular link color is...

    but it depends on the layout of your website.

  • I get the best results with 250x250 adsense ads on the top left side of the page. It is first thing after header image that visitors see when they arrive on my site. I tried many other ads format. This one convert best for me.
