Adsense Earnings.....Maybe Not?

I'm trying to understand something regarding my daily Adsense earnings. From time to time as I am checking my earnings throughout the day, I will see a certain dollar amount I have accumulated thus far. However, when I later go back to check earnings, whether it be 15 mins or 45 mins later, sometimes my accumulated earnings are less than what they were previously.

I can zero in on which site it is that has dropped (and it's always different), but it irks me that this is happening. Unless this is normal activity, I'm not sure, I haven't seen it discussed before. Is Google adjusting the click amount based on some reasoning......except after the fact?

Thanks everyone.

Assuming that those are some invalid clicks. Happens from time to time for me, it's really annoying though because I don't even get that many clicks.

It happens. There's invalid clicks and then there are invalid
      clicks.

I'd say for the majority of invalid clicks on honest adsense, it
is more for an accidental click where one clicks out right
away. The clicker must stay on the page a certain amount of
      time.

Your adsense earnings are probably lower when finalized at the
end of the month as well.

These clicks are quite common and have nothing to do with
the invalid activity that gets people banned.

It's been my experience that the higher the CPC, the more
google does internal validating. I've had more high
paying clicks taken than small ones.

I know. That's admitting I get invalid clicks. Like I said,
      it happens.

It also proves something most people don't realize. That money
is credited to your account almost immediately. The page
impressions lag. Then the big G may take it away.

If you run an honest adsense site, you never have to worry.

This is why the number is listed as "estimated earnings" until the end of the month. Google gets rid of the fraudulent/accidental clicks as it catches them. You'll never really know for sure how much money you've made exactly until you see them in "finalized earnings" at the end of the month.

Thanks to you all for explaining this. My guess is also honest invalid clicks, and yes, when they are reversed, it usually is somewhat substantial. I think I need to stop checking my adsense earnings so often.

maybe you can ask google first as it does not make sense to have invalid clicks during the day for so many days..it would be good to talk to them first before they suspect anything and ban your account..

If you get a dozen or so clicks daily, maybe.

But if you have make a lot of money, have a lot of clicks, you at first
      might be amazed....

You can't really know all invalid activity unless you are able to check your
earnings after each and every click. If you log in and see 100 clicks, $90,
I can almost assure you some of those 100 clicks were worth zero.

Contacting google is a useless endeavor and not recommended.
