  • There are 7 occurrences of 'dog training' on your homepage. I really don't think that's too many on a page with a medium amount of content.

That being said, I would put your #1 targeted keyword phrase into your h1 tag.
  • You mention the keyword "dog" as your main keyword. I am not a SEO expert but i would suggest aiming for a long tail keyword as your primary choice.

With single word keywords you are one of millions of sites and the traffic might not be interested in dog training. the longer tail keywords will bring you more specific and targeted traffic.

If you have not used it before google keyword tool is free and can help you get a basic idea of keyword searches and competition for that keyword.

How important is key word saturation when it comes to SEO? My pet site, smart pet . net (no spaces) focuses on dog training and when I performed a key word density check on the site my key word, dog, is listed at 8.57%. Is this considered spammy or is it ok and would this have an impact on my rankings? Thanks for any imput. Jon
