I overcame the google slap, but was it worth it?

I just rebuilt a site of mine on a new domain (it had been google slapped with $10 bids right from the start, and after a few months my content network traffic dropped by 99%).

After being pushed soley onto the content network, I was excited to finaly get back on to the search network

The good news - my squeeze pages are all good and google didn't slap me this time.

The bad news - turns out traffic from the content network converts to subscribers at a much higher rate - and for less money!

    Jason,

Some people still say don't advertise on the content network but they are probably not using it correctly. I've always used it for cheap clicks to build my lists and yes it usually converts better than the search network for that.

I've tested a few more things lately that have significantly lowered my click prices for my search network campaigns. I still test the content network for many of my campaigns because you never know which might convert better.

The biggest problem with content network ads are fraud clicks, don't place your content network ads everywhere.

From my experience I can tell you that putting your ads on more known sites, sites for which people think that they are very reputable, will definitely increase your conversions for at least 30%-40% because people trust that website and in the same time your ad,sales letter and offer you have for them.

Not necessarily... a lot of the content network are those who are just INTERESTED in the ad, if fraudulent clicks are found in adwords then you get rebated.

Now, I can tell you from first hand experience, just switching on the content network and no other, is a great way to get site exposure... whether you make the sale or not right there or not, is of no matter, but as long as you can capature them in an opt-in, you're set, until of course they unsubscribe from the crap content that could be dished out to them, so to keep them, you provide them with heaps of free info, then hit them with a commissionable product.

I was never doing e-mail marketing but I assume that it can increase your ROI very much and Aweber is not that expensive to start with(only $20 for less than 500 subscribers).

I might give it a try with some make money online products because they sell like hot cakes.

You said that I need to give them first a free product then a paid, not a bad strategy to warm them up first and then pick up the commissions.

It is good because it is almost free advertising.

I would appreciate if you can tell me how a big list you have(number of subscribers) and how much monthly you earn from that list?

I prefer to bid on specific sites rather than use the content network, which I found low quality. My products are specific to webmasters, and if there are high quality sites in the content network for webmasters, I certainly never found them.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Subscribers? great... hit them with a series of other products...

You know, I have a auto responder that has over 100 series of emails that get sent out with many products, some repeated over with different ad copy... conversions are awesome.
