Parked Domain = Duplicate content?

Hi all

I hope this is not a stupid question for my first post...

Would using a parked domain which points to another of my domains count as duplicate content?

i.e. so domainA.com displays the same content to the visitor as domainB.com because of the way it's set up in Cpanel. (I'm not referring to domain parking services or anything like that).

I know that there are a lot of opinions on whether a duplicate content penalty actually exists, but in this case it makes more sense to me to use a redirect to be on the safe side.

  • not a silly question, if the content on the parked domain is cached, and the information is present else where, sure, it's classed as duplicate content, so if you want to drive more traffic to that site and beat the other duplicate content website, drive more traffic to it... simple enough, but for the ROI on the backend, I'd spend more time building the site to make some more on the side.. park domains are overrated... not worth the effort. Build it, monetize it... K.I.S.S (no offense), it's what I live by.

    • It can sound bold, but I think that when people use parking services, they basically don't care what happens to their site - they just want to see some bucks.

      They just don't want to mess up and park and do not care:

      - if too much money is taken away by the parking services (and you are left with really funny money and there is no realistic way to track it)

      - or if the site in ok in terms of SEO

      - or if the site has duplicate content

      etc. etc.

      It's great that you, Naisi, ask these questions - this proves you take care. But it reminds me of the people who go to junk/fast food networks daily and at the same moment want a solution for staying healthy.

      If you really take care:

      (1) grab a domain
      (2) install WordPress on it
      (3) switch this site to any system that sends you quality content (today people are ready to produce lots of content, if you don't touch their backlinks in the content - you can check my free service in the forum sig, but I am not alone on the market)

      And this is much better than domain parking, of course, for the people who really care. You seem to be the one.
