I have a quick question regarding the way backlinking works in blogs. I understand some people leave their site's link in the comment, but is it at all useful to only leave the backlink in the "website" portion of the blog comment? Is the website clickable by other users without putting it in the comment, or does it only hold real value when posting it in the comment?

I ask because it'd seem much easier to detect spam if blog admins were to run across comments that had something like "Also, might want to check my link out as well as it contains some of the same information here - mylink.net".. Pretty obvious..
Any idea? Thanks for the help!
