Does the keyword need to be in the article title?

I have a keyword that is structured like this: (Product Name) Review. The site I am linking to already has that in the title and I don't exactly want to write another review So can I just leave the keyword out of the title? I am using the article for SEO purposes and will link it to my site.

  • But why? I only need the article for backlinks and its probably not going to rank in any position thats going to get traffic to it. Also, if I include the keyword in the title (Product Name Review) then I would have to write a review pointing to a review???:confused: Please can someone correct me on this, thanks

    • Yes its for article directories purely for backlinks. The reason that I don't want to use the keyword in the title is because my keyword is similar to this:

      digital camera review

      Which limits me to writing a review which is what I have already done on my main site. So does it even matter if the keyword is in the article when submitting them just for backlinks?

  • Thanks for all the reply's, I guess I can use what debtlocal suggested and write something similar whilst still keeping the keyword.Thanks for all the help!

    • There's a difference between "need" and maybe should.

      The sky is not going to fall if you don't put it into the title.

      If the title was the in thing, then you could just type garbage
      in the article.

      The bots from google are smart enough to scan a page to
      glean content.

      And just because you put your chosen keyword in an
      article title guarantees nothing.

      Why anyone is still mentioning meta keywords is way beyond
      me. This is, after all, almost 2012, not 1996.

      A lot of keyword stuffing here. The startling fact is, that
      you will get much more juice from google writing for a real
      human visitor instead of a googlebot, if you are indeed talking
      about articles.
