Will WordPress Automatically Do Redirects?

I just changed my permalink structure for my site and now I have two questions:

1. My existing posts won't change to reflect this change automatically, will they?

2. Secondly, if I manually change a post's title to reflect the change in case it DOESN'T happen automatically... will links pointing to the old URL automatically redirect to the new one? Will WordPress do this for me?

wordpress should update to link to the correct source. Dont really understand what your saying if thats not what you are asking
