Hello Folks, Hope everything is going fine.
I need your review about choosing SEO service. Recently I visited SEOmoz. Have anyone used their services? Actually I didn't understand their sole purpose. What will they actually do?
Also please give your review about other SEO software as well like Senuke and others.
Does Google penalize for using such software?
Looking forward for your responses. Thanks in advance.

Seomoz is highly overpriced and they will not due anything to actually rank your website - just analyzing competitors, rank tracking, link analyzing, etc... They will not do anything useful for your website, just telling you what you should do if you read their tools, something like that. So a big NO NO.

Not useful for you if you are just starting. Just if you are a corporation with high $$ to shell out for nothing useful.

If you want results, try some services that offer you backlinks, that is for start. Article marketing and blog networks are hottest at the moment. For article marketing you can go with a software and one time payment like AMR. For blog networks, build my rank is currently considered the best out there.

Other tools might be useful, it depends also on kind of websites you have, what niches do you go for, competition, strategy, etc.. give more details and we can recommend you a custom solution.

Thank you Tumpo. I also thought like you that they are not helping for SEO purpose without giving some analytical data.
Yes, Article marketing is trending a lot now. I'll keep your word in mind about this.
I also wanted to know about Link Pyramid. I know about the three stages of it but not sure what kind of site I've to use for it at every different stage and how to connect them? Would I connect them via the same keyword in each site with next site's link? How many link I'll use at each site?
Yes, a lot of questions, but I'm an eager learner and need your kind suggestions too.

I truly admire seo moz for their marketing strategy - they built an awesome reputation for quite simple SEO tools that everyone talks about and quite a few are willing to pay a killer price for.

I love their outreach towards an SEO community - trying to be open and ethical about SEO and cultivating a powerful and educated user community. Great branding approach, way to go.

But when I choose seo software, I look for the meat: metrics, formulas, factors etc. And in my honest opinion there are many more advanced tools where SEO and programming skills win over marketing (after all not all companies have investor dollars to spend on marketing). Those who read beyond marketing and look for substance in SEO software know that there are a few more superior tools to moz. My opinion.

SEOmoz stated on their website that they deliberately jacked up their SEO service prices, to reduce the supply/demand ratio. So don't use them in my opinion.

The softwares you mentioned in your post are good as long as you don't do link blasts with them like 50k links in one go etc.

But i guess there are free tools around now which are letting people do similar kind of link building. Google "free backlink tools" and you will get some good ones.
