Right ill try and keep it short.

Maybe im completely confusing myself here but -

How do google determine the amount adsense pays you per click through on your webpage?
Is it determined by A) The keyword content of your page or b) The exact term searched on google?
For example i might rank high for a low paying keyword but my content is optimized for higher paying keywords... So does the search term typed in google directly reflect the adsense ad payout on your site??

  • Hi Pleiadian01,

Advertisers compete for ad positions on the ad units on your pages. The higher the advertiser's bid the higher your payout. Google keeps a portion of the revenue for themselves of course.

Advertisers may compete based on keywords, demographics or on your website in particular. The better your site does at making sales for the advertisers, the higher they will bid for ad positions on your pages.

It's not just about the keywords, it's also about how well your website's traffic converts for the advertisers. You make them more, they pay you more!

    • Hi there, thanks for your feedback.
So as long as you are attracting relevant traffic to the content you are displaying, it does not matter so much what exact phrases are typed into google (as long as that phrase has relevance to your webpage)?

What im trying to say is just because there are no bids on the search term you rank high for, if this search term still has relevance to the content you are displaying, then providing i have good targeted content i can still attract higher paying adsense?
      Did that make sense?...
Google doesnt alter the adsense payments depending on what phrase was searched for?

  • google developers might answer this question very well but it might depends upon the rank of a website for a more competetive keyword.........
  • you can go to adwords forum and find your answer

    • i believe it will be based on ur choosed keyword and niche. and e-service is right, you can go to adwords forum to know more about this.
  • I think the more your site converts, the higher the pay out on a click. If the advertisers make, then you make more money.... Big G is happy everybody is happy

  • Re: A) The keyword content of your page or b) The exact term searched on google?

The ad shown on your site is determined by the content on the page, so if you content is from a niche that is from the Advertisers paying Adverage $1.00 per click then you get approx 20% (give or take)

The are a lot a variables...eg the different costs per ad, which ad they click on, how much exactly googl pays etc

    Hope this helps
