Dear Fellow Warriors,

I am going to start offering local SEO consultancy for business in my area and I am currently looking for a good course/ebook, which could give me enough knowledge to start performing website evaluations for my potential client.

I would really appreciate your good input.
regards
Arthur

Your best bet is to do a search on this forum for SEO.

SEO is ALWAYS changing so it is worth reading latest posts etc... to stay up to date.

As we all know, SEO is no secret. On page optimization and LOTS of backlinks. if fact you can do well in any keyword.
What you really need is some research for the "Hungry Niche" keyword. Correct me if I'm wrong

thanks a lot guys, I will be definitely having a look at the signatures and books you recommended.

I have completed a decent course for optimizing website using wordpress, however I know that most of my future clients are probably still hiring their own web designers- who are doing everything themselves.

I am fine with optimizing it with Wordpress, but it would be good to be able to also make suggestions for other website building platforms.

Should I be worrying about this at all? Should I be making suggestions for them to migrate over to wordpress?

    Best Wishes of success

    Hi,
I agreed on the points made by other warriors.
SEO is nothing but constantly using your analytical skills and ability to point out the changes in the web-world.
There is no particular method or technique or book or tutorial to learn SEO. It is all about using your analytical skills.

    So, all the best.

PS:rather then referring any book I would suggest you to read articles and participate in message boards. It gives you updated knowledge and different point of view.

I supposed you should be working for your client's site to have better ranking in Google. In this matter, it would be much better if you will read and understand first the Google webmaster Guidelines in order to keep you on the right track.

Webmaster Guidelines - Webmaster Tools Help

It will take only a few minutes to read, but I suggest you to spend some time in some major factors that Google is pointing. In this way, you will surely make your client satisfied.

After this, you can now proceed to your work and of course, give your clients your best shot!

    makes youtube videos about SEO.
    Search him on youtube.

If you search for "long videos" over 20 minutes...you should also see a presentation of him doing site reviews at Google i/o.
