Google penalty.... Need urgent help... Please!

Hi,
Five days ago my website Vitamins and Supplements - Vitamins Supplements Online! and all pages within a few minutes went from the first Google search pages to the 5-8 pages. I don't know exactly what is the penalty, minus 50 or minus 60, however website is fully punished. Also, I don't know exactly for what reasons I was punished, I can only guess. After the penalty website have the same toolbar PR, the indexed pages not doesn't decrease but even increased. So I think that the main reason for the penalties are too high activity of doing the backlinks. Although I must say that the last five months I have no work related to backlinks, backlinks all during this period came naturally. I confess that I have used Automatick Backlinks Plugin, which I have deleted after the sentencing. Also, I am using the Related Websites plugin, but I don't know whether it is bad and that it violated the rules. But I can firmly say that have never bought a single link, and no one was willing not have sold.
Maybe that's not a place, but I want to say my opinion of backlinks and Google rules. It is very strange that Google penalizes a high activity of doing the backlinks and declares that they must be "natural", and at the same time, on the first Google search pages, all the "high brand" sites, which have a strong position for many years, when checking their backlinks are all purchased. Many of them for a lot of money. Even more intriguingly, that Google calculates as well their affiliate links.
Can you help me answer a few questions?
1. What more can be more grounds for such penalties?
2. How do I know whether the penalty is automatically using algorithms, or it was done manually by human? How is it possible to verify this?
3. How to check website's backlinks is bad? How is it possible to eradicate them?
4. Then, when everything is fixed. What are the possible and the best ways to remove the penalty? Is there a need to do Requesting reconsideration? Or I can simply wait for that site would be rebuilt in the search results?
