I definitely know that feeling. The thing is...it eventually moves up to where its supposed to be.

Don't worry about it. You'll move up soon.
I know that we can't help but check every single day to see if it shot up or not..and it took me a lot of frustrating moments to realize that SEO moves in weeks and months - not hours and days. If it should move up (and it looks like it should) just wait a bit...it'll move up there.

It looks like you'll beat all the sites from 2-6th position easily soon.
Keep working at it so you can beat that guy's top spot. And be patient.

One thing to consider though...is your content and on-site seo.
Poor optimization on-site can definitely be a problem that is preventing you from ranking higher.
Putting a link to your site so people could comment on it could be helpful.

Until your site is at least 6 mos old its nothing, google does not trust it, just be patient things do not happen quickly with new sites. be especially careful not to blast the site with backlinks

also even though the basic onsite SEO is good, according to the checkmarks, thats not all google looks at, the site must be mapped and structured properly and have clearly delineated zones, or google will not give it the proper respect

Yeah the site is around 3.5 to 4 months old...Yup i faced google dance in 1st 2 mnths..later it stabilized..after that i tried backlinking to stay in the rankings...

Still cant figure out what to do

It demotivates me to move further with this site or other micro niche sites

My resort site I put up in January, It was number 10, then after a few months it went to number 3 for one of the terms I want badly

it sat at number 3 for months , I actually went in and translated all the pages to 3 different languages. it took not much time at all with google translate. That moved it to number one for a week then it went back to number 3
        I left it alone
Now its at number two , its 9 months old, I will go back and backlink a bit more and add some more content.

You cant rush new sites. Then you hear stories of sites going to number 2 on AUTO INSURANCE or some such term in two months
perhaps but how much did they pay for all those backlinks, someone could report them and they might get deindexed, who knows

All of the video tutorials i have found on backlinking and SEO that showed the guys site was number 5 or 7 or so, and he could not figure out why he was not outranking the weak sites on top of him, I went in and rechecked those sites in the tuts and they are all number one now, so just be patient, its a marathon not a sprint

I use TT too and it looks like the problem is that the backlinks for some of the sites above yours are not being reported correctly. They are not zero and probably a lot higher than yours.

SEO can be a slow process and takes time and patience to make it work. The fastest I have ever been able to get a high traffic keyword to the top of google(were talking searches in the 100,000's per month) was 4 months being very aggressive. The best advice I can give is keep writing articles and press releases around your primary keywords. Keep creating backlinks in your articles. Remember, content is king!
