I would like to look into getting a local pizza place ranked in google or what ever business. I haven't done this type of ranking yet and want to learn

Any help would be great!

    1. Complete every part of the listing
    2. Geo Tag all your photos and videos
    3. Plant citations everywhere
    4. Get real local reviews
    5. Back link to the places page
    6. Send traffic to the places page
    7. Make a landing page specifically for your places page on your website. Title your landing page exactly as your places page and use the phone number in the title of your landing page. Plus have all your places page info on your landing page exactly as it appears on your places page.

    Example: Local Pizza Place | (122) 456-7891

    8. Follow the rule to the letter.

    Good luck.

Try to get into local online directories as well - like your local Super Pages or Yellow Pages - and have a link back to your site.

It is not that hard to get top ranking for a local business. In spite of there being a large number of Internet marketing companies in my local town, I hold the top 3 positions.

Here are a few of my tips.

For the chosen key word, say "Chicago Pizza," do the following.

    1. Make your title tag read "Chicago Pizza - [company name]
    2. Use the words "chicago pizza" together regularly on the page.
    3. Spend time in local forums and use "chicago pizza" as anchor text while linking to your web site in your signature.
    4. Run local events and connect with local fundraisers where news, events and other sites will link to you.

You can get more tips from my 300+ page "Internet Marketing 101" ecourse which is currently in a free beta download state.

  • Hi,

Pick populous cities, towns or districts in the states you're targeting for your keywords with good local search volume...

Append the names of those populous cities, towns and districts to your keywords...

Onsite SEO comes next. Install SEOPressor if your sites are in Wordpress...

Write posts optimized for your target keywords. You can use say a set of five different keywords appended with one city, town or district names under one niche for a post. Set the priority levels for each of those five keywords, particularly which would be your H1/title, H2s, H3 and H4 for the post. Write posts for each city, town or district you're targeting. If you want multiple posts for a keyword set targeting a specific city/town/district, you can also change the priority levels for the keyword set of each post...

Your posts should talk about relevant facts about the city/town/district related to the topics and sub topics covered by your target keywords. You can also link the city/town/district name in your posts to relevant pages of high authority websites about the specific city/town/district...

In your posts, you can also link to other relevant pages of your site...

Next, build diverse backlinks for those pages, using your keywords with city/town/district names...
