I don't care about it. What I care is how much money I can earn from a website, not how much traffic I can get.

      I agree completely.

My websites are a business and so I treat them as such. For any business the focus is on making money. Personally I could not give a rip about Alexa rank, traffic or general numbers. If the site is making a profit then it is successful.

Same here, but my "Alexa rankings" can't even tell me anything useful about how much traffic I can get, anyway.

    I neither know nor care (and if even I don't ... )

All it can measure (and not accurately at all) is users of the so-called Alexa toolbar, and they're nearly all internet marketers anyway. Nothing about real visitors, or potential customers, or anything interesting/relevant like that. :p

I see that it may be of interest to people who are selling sites, or selling advertising on them, simply as one of these self-perpetuating things where they're obliged to be interested in it "just because other people are interested in it".

Call me a skepchick, but I think the whole thing's a waste of time, really.

I would be more concerned about the websites SERP's, Traffic, quality content, the value it shares to it's visitors/subscribers and the cash it can generate from monetizing it online and offline.

    hmm mine is 93,004

I started this website practically in July

However, I am not satisfied with the ranking. I wouldn't usually pay much attention to alexa, but for this type of websites, i guess my visitors do. since the ranking is kind of based in the alexa

Have not checked for a while and yup right now i don't really care. I drive highly targeted traffic to my sites and although i would love millions of highly targeted visitors i am realsitic

Maybe something i will pay more attention to when the sites are a few years older.

I do care about my Alexa ranking and stats, and I do of course take them with a grain of salt as well.

If your site is old enough it gives you a lot of information. I like the audience stats as it gives me great demographics on visitors. Age, education level, where they browse from, home or work, etc. etc.

Ranking is 48k World Wide 11k USA.

I check mine every now and then. It is a measurement of traffic. When I see mine drop it gives me a little motivation to promote my site more. Mine today is 154, 273 and 63,245 in the U.S.

FYI here is a neat little site for checking various things including Alexa Rank:

These are pretty impressive Alexa numbers, looks like you have good traffic to your sites...are you promoting long tails? Competitive keywords? How do you promote your site to have so much traffic if I may ask please?

        Thank you,

Alexa rank is calculated based upon the visits made by users who have Alexa toolbar installed. So it does not matter and does not reflect real stats.

I think Alexa is an interesting way to get a basic idea of how "popular" a site is and what kind of traffic they are driving.

My largest site is still over 1 million...

I don't care about it at all, and it really depends on the type of website you have as well. Sometimes a website with lower rankings can get a better Alexa ranking than one with first place rankings if they are in different niches.

Exactly it seems that Alexa ranking do not provide any such relevancy details about the traffic. I have seen number of website having low Alexa ranking having less traffic than the website with higher Alexa ranking. So I can't found any relevancy with their ranking and traffic. Let me know if I am wrong, some one can correct me. Thanks in advance....
