    Hi Ravi,

Good tips for some easy backlinks. There is a common misconception though in terms of these link's page ranks. The links you describe below will get you links, but they will all have the same PR. Zero. The value of them comes from them having high domain pagerank. This means that you can pump them quickly and with brute force as the domain can handle the massive increase in link acceleration. Still valuable. But not PR 9 backlinks.

It's getting harder and harder to use free blogs like wordpress and forum profile pages like digital point' to build backlinks. Free blogs ban those blogs involved in link building more often than before, and profile pages aren't not that effective in link building like they once were. So we'd better find more other resources and strategies.

Are they trying to stomp free link building because they are "Trying to ensure quality content"?

DP is not a Pr 9 site for your information. However, nice thoughts of helping newbies out there.

It's great to try to help newbies. The ways you explain would get backlinks, but those kind of links are not going to help your SERP and getting PR.

As mmickeals said it's misconception about links on actual pages that have PR and links on pages that DO NOT have PR.

Getting a link on the page that doesn't have any PR from high PR site, doesn't mean that you'll get the benefits of high PR from that site.

Hope this help clarify a little bit more.
